It's almost time for Summer Reading Club! The theme this year is "Plant a Seed, Read" and we have lots of fun programs planned and prizes to be won for reaching your reading goals. Registration begins June 22!

The Fiske Public Library will be partnering with the libraries in Foxboro, Plainville, Norfolk, Mansfield, Sharon, and Walpole for a Soccer Gnome Hunt throughout the month of June.

Celebrate the world's biggest tournament! Join the hunt for 28 gnomes in the public libraries of the towns which surround Foxboro. Each library will host 4 gnomes with feature flags from the participating countries. Pick up a list at any of the participating libraries. See out the gnomes and mark them off your list for fun while you explore our area libraries June 1 - 30, 2026.

Learn to Sew!
Wednesdays, June 10, 17, & 24, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The Learn to Sew program is a 3-week series for ages 10-100 where participants register for all 3 weeks in order to fully understand a sewing machine and be able to sew with confidence. The Library currently has 4 sewing machines which can be checked out for the duration of the program, but must be returned on the final day for the next series. Participants can also bring in their own (good working order and ready to go) sewing machine. Led by Mary Sandison. Space is limited to six participants.

The EcoTarium will be visiting Fiske on Saturday, May 16 with their fun and educational Rocket Launch program for kids age 7+.

Getting to space—it's just rocket science! Explore the laws of motion and learn which parts of a rocket are built to propel, streamline, and stabilize. Design and test your own model spacecraft, then launch it skyward or toward a target. Does it hit the mark? Redesign and improve to get to the moon!

Known for his bold signature on the Declaration of Independence, Founding Father John Hancock played a vital role in the formation of the United States of America. A merchant and smuggler, John was one of the wealthiest men in the thirteen colonies. Learn how he used his power and influence to support the revolutionary cause, and eventually become the first and third governor of Massachusetts.

John Hancock will be portrayed by Tom Dietzel.
