💚 The Good People Initiative has been spreading kindness throughout our community! 💚

✨ Building Bridges For Brianna honored Angel Rivera at Brothers Keeper Barbering Co. with a Good People Bag.

✨ Minnich's Pharmacy continued the kindness by recognizing the Good People at White Rose Senior Center and Northeastern Senior Center.

✨ Kris Stroup and Lori Leister honored Britta Schwab for the difference she makes in our community.

✨ Airis Mercado highlighted the incredible work Dawn Squire does at the York Housing Authority and Spangler & Boyer Mechanical.

✨ Springettsbury Township Police Department School Resource Officer Torkar recognized the leadership and support of the Central York High School principal, security officer, and Team Lynx.

✨ And last, but definitely not least, the Rotary Club of North York

What an inspiring group of people! It has been such a joy to see great work and the people behind it recognized for the impact they make in our community every day.

Together, we create ripples of kindness that continue to grow like waves. 🌊💚

Thank you to YOU and all of the Good People right here in our community.

We see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you. Our community is stronger, kinder, and better because of you. 💚

✨ May Vibes Were in Full Swing at Our Annual Spring Dance ✨

Staff and individuals came together to celebrate the season at our annual May Day Dance! The night was full of happiness, great music, and unforgettable moments. 🌸🎶

From a Michael Jackson sing-off, to staff getting wrapped up in the maypole streamers, to hugs and smiles all around — it was a fantastic night!

Thank you to Rock N Roll Express DJ for the amazing music, to everyone who brought their energy, and to our Social Recreation Staff for making this a night to remember.

Events like these remind us how important it is to celebrate together.

💚 “Together let’s shine a light on the needs of our loved ones and build a community where every patient has the opportunity to live and thrive.” 💚

Last week at the York County Mental Health Walk, Amy Graf, a mental health advocate, family caregiver, and volunteer, shared her family’s journey and her passion for improving support for adults living with serious and persistent mental illness.

“My advocacy began in 2013 when a family member was diagnosed, and since then, I have been involved with our local mental health system and NAMI,” Amy shared.

“The fact that we do have resources and partnerships here in York County makes me especially grateful for the network built.”

Amy spoke about the importance of continued investment in mental health and supportive housing services.

She also shared the deeply personal experience her family has faced:
“After a very long 45-month hospital stay awaiting placement, my family member is finally receiving appropriate care. As he recovers, he will need a safe and supportive place to live, one reason why expanding housing is so personally important to me.”

Her story is a powerful reminder of why advocacy, compassion, and community support matter so deeply.

Thank you, Amy, for courageously sharing your story, advocating for families, and helping shine a light on mental health. 💚

There’s nothing better than spending time at the beach! 🌊☀️

Desiree Jamison, ID Residential Assistant Program Coordinator, recently shared special memories from a trip to Myrtle Beach with Vicki and her joy and enthusiasm say it all.

“I have been working with Vicki for about 11 years. I love seeing her enjoy the life she wants,” Desiree shared.

“We spent the week at Myrtle Beach, and these are some of her fun times. Yes, we still visited McDonald’s three times a day for iced coffee, but she enjoyed every minute of the trip.” ☕😊

What stood out most to Desiree was Vicki’s heart and compassion.

“What warms my heart the most is her kind heart. Her housemate’s birthday was the day we returned, and she insisted on buying her a birthday present. She wanted to leave early in the morning to get back home and give her friend the gift.”

“Bell residents are amazing, and I love how we as Bell employees make their days special. GOOOOOO TEAM! Or should I say GOOOO FAMILY!” ❤️

Stepping into someone else’s reality can change the way we understand and respond.

The York City Police Department invited staff in our Mental Health Services, to participate in Virtual Reality Training after officers have come to Bell for Crisis Intervention Training, Handle with Care, and Hearing Distressing Voices.

Through immersive, hands-on scenarios, staff experienced situations officers may face in the field. The training sparked conversations and valuable insight.

We are grateful to the officers who led this eye-opening experience and to the staff who participated with open minds and a willingness to learn.

Partnerships like these strengthen our community and allow for a deeper understanding. 💚

💚During Mental Health Awareness Month, we come together to raise awareness, encourage understanding, and help end the stigma. This month serves as an important reminder that recovery is possible and that no one has to face their journey alone.

At Bell, our Mental Health team works every day to advocate, support, and empower individuals as they navigate their recovery journeys with strength and courage.

A special thank you to Cheyanne Lambert, Program Coordinator of CHIPP Supported Living, for lighting up our Main Building green in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.

We also want to recognize Cheyanne and Ashlyn Lovett, Case Manager at Next Door, for being advocates during the York Revolution Stop the Stigma Night. Their compassion, dedication, and willingness to speak up help create greater understanding and support within our community.

Thank you to our phenomenal staff and community for helping shine a light on mental health and reminding others that recovery is possible.💚

Behind every success story is someone who believed change was possible.💚

For Dani Graham, that belief shapes everything she does — from supporting individuals in Bell’s group homes to researching how kindness and human connection can positively impact behavior.

Now graduating with her psychology degree while working full-time at Bell, Dani’s future is bright as she pursues research, even presenting on an international stage on how interventions can lead to positive change.

“When I was younger, I wanted to be a doctor,” she says. “Then I took my first psychology class and realized this was an actual field I could go into. I’ve been set on psychology ever since.”

“My main hope for the future is to remember why I am doing what I am doing even when it's a rocky path," Dani shares.

Her story is full of heart, determination, and a passion for helping others grow.

Let’s start the week with a whole lot of happy. ❤️

Staff in our Intellectual/Developmental Disability Services ensure that individuals live their best lives and do what brings them joy.

Recently, Missy Raup, Program Coordinator of A.I.M. (Always Include Me), took Mark to a Baltimore Orioles game, and judging by that smile, it was definitely a home run. ⚾

Here’s to more memorable and amazing experiences!☺️
