Sutter County Library consists of the Main Library in Yuba City, and three rural branch libraries in the communities of Live Oak, Sutter, and Rio Oso. The library is an educational, recreational and cultural resource that promotes reading and related activities, supports formal educational course work, and encourages lifelong learning for the residents of Sutter County. The library includes collec

tions of books, magazines, newspapers and audiovisual materials, and provides services including online databases, reference assistance, interlibrary loan and public access to the internet. Ongoing programs support children’s services, pre-teen and teen services, adult services and family literacy, including citizenship preparation and civic participation.

Get ready to Plant a Seed—Read! 🌼🌞
From June 8 – August 1, youth ages 0–18 can join the fun by tracking their reading through the ReadSquared app or a paper log and earn a brag tag for every 30 minutes read!

This summer is packed with fun for the whole family:

The Sutter County Library’s Main Branch (750 Forbes Ave., Yuba City) is anticipating operational impacts following an overnight break-in that resulted in vandalism to the property and the theft of the facility’s HVAC systems, leaving the building without air conditioning.

The Library is currently open. However, as temperatures rise, there is the potential for temporary closures to ensure the safety and comfort of staff and visitors. Those planning to visit are encouraged to call ahead to confirm the facility is open at (530) 822-7137.

Library staff are working closely with the Yuba City Police Department and the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Yuba City Police Department at (530) 822-4660.

We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as crews work to restore the Library and return services to normal as quickly as possible.
