Sutter County Library consists of the Main Library in Yuba City, and three rural branch libraries in the communities of Live Oak, Sutter, and Rio Oso. The library is an educational, recreational and cultural resource that promotes reading and related activities, supports formal educational course work, and encourages lifelong learning for the residents of Sutter County. The library includes collec

tions of books, magazines, newspapers and audiovisual materials, and provides services including online databases, reference assistance, interlibrary loan and public access to the internet. Ongoing programs support children’s services, pre-teen and teen services, adult services and family literacy, including citizenship preparation and civic participation.

We have something for everyone this month! Join us for:

🧸 Toddler Time – Tuesdays at 11 AM
📖 Story Time – Wednesdays & Thursdays at 11 AM
🧱 Lego Club – Wednesdays from 2–4 PM
🧶 Skill Share – Fridays from 2–5 PM
♟️ Chess Club – Saturdays from 2–4:30 PM

Plus, we have several special events throughout the month, including our Teen Advisory Board meeting, Friends of the Library Book Sale, Master Gardener Workshop, Junk Journal Workshop, and Book Club!

✨ All programs are free and open to the public, and supplies are provided for applicable programs.

Join the UC Master Gardeners at the Sutter County Library for a free Adults Only House Plants Workshop on Saturday, August 8, from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Learn how to properly transplant, fertilize, and care for your favorite houseplants, and leave with practical tips to help them thrive.

After a fun-filled summer of story times, crafts, special events, and our Summer Reading Program, the Sutter County Library Children’s Department will be taking a short break from programming during the month of August.

This time allows us to catch our breath, plan, create, and prepare an exciting lineup of story times and children’s events for the fall.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back in September with more books, crafts, songs, stories, and fun. Thank you for making this summer so memorable—we’ll see you soon! 📚🍎💚

🏰✨ What a magical way to wrap up our Summer Reading Program! ✨🏰

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fairy Tale Renaissance Fair! Families spent the day creating magic wands, colorful swords and shields, knight helmets, whimsical fairy tale sticker scenes, and beautiful flower chaplets. Young archers even tested their skills at our indoor archery station!

The fun continued with two fantastic live performances—Mother Goose Land by the Fratello Marionettes and Shakespeare Was a Pirate—that had audiences laughing and cheering throughout the day.

A heartfelt thank you to our volunteers, performers, staff, community partners, and everyone who helped make this summer so special. We loved seeing so many smiling faces and can’t wait to welcome you back for more library adventures!

As we wrap up a busy summer, the Children’s Department will be taking a short programming break during August. Regular story times and children’s events will resume in September. We look forward to seeing you all again soon! 📚💚

🎩✨ What a wonderful way to wrap up our Family Fun Night series! ✨🎩

Last night’s performance by Germar the Magician had families laughing, smiling, and amazed from beginning to end. Thank you to everyone who joined us all summer long for another fantastic Summer Reading Program. We loved spending the summer with our amazing community!

But the fun isn’t over yet! 🏰👑

Join us this Saturday, August 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for our end of summer Fairy Tale Renaissance Fair! Enjoy fairy tale-themed crafts, games, snacks, and fun for the whole family.

We appreciate the fun, educational program and the passion the NorCal Bats team brings to wildlife conservation and community education.
