Here's my Relay for Life Recap for 2026. I had so much fun at Relay and so happy to be part of several special moments, like leading the Childhood Cancer Gold Together Lap and The Luminaria Lap, walking with my Dad on the Survivor Lap, walking with my mom on the Caregiver Lap, being interviewed by Relay For Life's
National Marketing Team! Plus I had the chance to be silly with the Inflatable and Bubble Laps, ate some yummy food and drinks, met so many new people and spent quality time with friends and family! I just had a blast! Can't wait for The Survivors Gala in June! Stay tuned!

This event means so much to me for a very personal reason. When I was going through cancer, my dad was my caregiver—he was there for everything, every step of the way. Later on, when he was facing cancer, our roles were reversed, and I had the honor of being there for him.

Caregivers don’t always get the spotlight, but they are the quiet strength behind every survivor’s story. They show up on the hardest days, carry the weight you can’t, and remind you that you’re never alone. That’s why Relay for Life celebrates caregivers too—because they are truly heroes.

Due to the expected heat on Saturday, the Survivor Lunch has now been changed to a Survivor Dinner from 6pm to 8pm at the Pacific Athletic Complex.

Important Update for Our Survivors

To help keep everyone safe and comfortable in the heat, we’ve moved the Survivor Meal to the evening.

Dinner, generously provided by Texas Roadhouse, will now be served from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

We still invite all survivors to join us at 11:00 AM for the Opening Ceremony and Survivor Lap, one of the most powerful moments of the day.

Then come back in the evening to enjoy a meal, connect, and take part in our Childhood Cancer Lap, Luminaria Ceremony and Remembrance Lap.

We are so honored to celebrate you.

One of the things that makes Relay For Life special is how the community comes together to support each other.

Because of the warm weather expected this weekend, local businesses and community members are already stepping up to help provide items like fans, umbrellas, and cooling items for participants.

In addition to these donations, we will also have cooling stations at the event with water, cooling towels, sunscreen, and fans available to help participants stay comfortable throughout the day.

Relay For Life of Yuma County takes place this Saturday, March 21.

Together we are making sure our community can continue to fight back against cancer safely.
