For decades, opponents of progress have used 'socialism' as a scare word to oppose major public achievements. They applied the label to public power projects, Social Security, farm price supports, bank deposit insurance, and the growth of independent labor unions. In reality, 'socialism' is often just the term used by critics to dismiss policies that benefit the public as a whole.

Spending money on electric-shock gloves for ICE is a waste of taxpayer dollars that helps no one and ultimately hurts all of us. Targeting low-income immigrants does nothing to put food on our tables, pay our bills, or strengthen our communities. Instead, these policies drain resources from local communities and contribute to economic hardship across the country.

Our overseas military service members deployed in the conflict with Iran are enduring unlivable conditions. Warships are suffering from broken plumbing, leading to overflowing toilets, severe f***s contamination, and a complete lack of showers. On top of that, troops are facing shortages of food and clean drinking water, causing severe weight loss and widespread illness.
