Strengthening Bilateral Tech & Science Partnerships!
Ambassador and the Venezuelan Minister for Science and Technology, Mr. Yvan Gil, held a meeting to advance key initiatives across digital infrastructure, healthcare, and academia. The DigiLocker Project and the introduction of India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system in Venezuela were discussed for building on the MoU on cooperation in digital technology sector signed last February. Also, the future signing of the MoU on Traditional Medicine paving the way for expert exchanges and joint research, and the proposed MoUs with the Venzuelan National Science Academy and the University of Delhi, as well as on space science cooperation were discussed.

El Embajador y el Ministro del Poder Popular para Ciencia y Tecnología de Venezuela, Sr. Yvan Gil, mantuvieron una reunión para impulsar iniciativas clave en materia de infraestructura digital, salud y el ámbito académico. Se discutió el proyecto DigiLocker y la implementación del sistema de Interfaz de Pagos Unificada (UPI) de la India en Venezuela, con el fin de dar seguimiento al Memorando de Entendimiento sobre cooperación en el sector de la tecnología digital firmado el pasado mes de febrero. Asimismo, se discutió la futura firma del Memorando de Entendimiento sobre Medicina Tradicional, que allanará el camino para intercambios de expertos e investigaciones conjuntas, así como los Memorandos de Entendimiento propuestos con la Academia Nacional de Ciencias de Venezuela y la Universidad de Delhi, y sobre cooperación en ciencias espaciales.

Ambassador met with Mr. Abelardo Kasabji, President of Fedecámaras Sucre, Mr. Miguel Amendolara and Mr. Pablo Gatto from the Chamber of Commerce of Cumaná, Mrs. Jennys Rodríguez, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Carúpano and Mr. Álvaro López, President of Asoprocave on 19 August and discussed key topics related to combating cocoa phytosanitary challenges, bilateral agreements between India and Venezuela on AYUSH traditional medicine, agricultural technology, and boosting maritime trade logistics between India and Venezuela.

El Embajador se reunió con el Sr. Abelardo Kasabji, Presidente de Fedecámaras Sucre, el Sr. Miguel Amendolara y el Sr. Pablo Gatto de la Cámara de Comercio de Cumaná, la Sra. Jennys Rodríguez, Directora Ejecutiva de la Cámara de Comercio e Industria de Carúpano y el Sr. Álvaro López, Presidente de Asoprocave el 19 de agosto y discutieron temas clave relacionados con el combate a los desafíos fitosanitarios del cacao, acuerdos bilaterales entre la India y Venezuela sobre la medicina tradicional AYUSH, tecnología agrícola y el impulso de la logística del comercio marítimo entre la India y Venezuela.

Ambassador met with H.E. Mr Joaquín Alberto Pérez Ayestarán, Deputy Minister for Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and they reviewed key issues on the multilateral agenda, strengthening ties of cooperation and dialogue in international forums.

El Embajador se reunió con Su Excelencia el Sr. Joaquín Alberto Pérez Ayestarán, Viceministro para Temas Multilaterales del Ministerio del Poder Popular para Relaciones Exteriores y Comercio Internacional, y revisaron cuestiones clave de la agenda multilateral, con el fin de reforzar los lazos de cooperación y diálogo en los foros internacionales.

89th KNOW INDIA PROGRAMME (KIP)

Embassy of India in Caracas invites applications from young people of Indian origin for the 89th Edition of the KIP (Scholars and Innovators), scheduled from 15 to 29 September 2026. The flagship programme of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with India's rich cultural heritage, innovation ecosystem and remarkable development journey. Selected participants travel to India as guests of the Government of India.

Who may apply: Young Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), aged 18-23 years residing in Venezuela.

india.venezuela celebrated the 80th Indian Independence Day in its premises today with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.

The celebrations commenced with a soulful rendition of National Song . Thereafter, Ambassador hoisted the National Flag and read out the President’s address to the Nation delivered on the eve of Independence Day.

He presented certificates and prizes to the participants and winners of several activities organised by the Embassy. The artwork from the Madhubani paintings workshop were exhibited at the venue. Around 120 members of the Indian diaspora and friends of India joined the celebrations.

Thereafter, a Swachhta Campaign activity was conducted to clean the premises.

During his official visit to Sucre State, Ambassador met with the Governor, Ms Jhoanna Carrillo, and representatives of the main chambers of commerce and business leaders to discuss opportunities for cooperation in trade and commerce. Accompanied by the President of Cavidea, Mr Juvenal Arveláez, and officials from UNDP, he visited cocoa farms and sea food processing facilities to witness the economic potential of the state.

Durante su visita oficial al Estado Sucre, el Embajador se reunió con la Gobernadora, la Sra. Jhoanna Carrillo, y con representantes de las principales cámaras de comercio y líderes empresariales para analizar las oportunidades de cooperación en materia de comercio.
