On 9 September 2026, Mr. Beh Ching Chye, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Malaysia in Venezuela, paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Marynna Elena Saatdjian de Bracale, Vice Minister of International Trade, at the Yellow House. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

El 2 de septiembre de 2026 se celebró una ceremonia de entrega de cheque en el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, en Putrajaya, como parte de la asistencia humanitaria de Malasia destinada a apoyar las labores de socorro y recuperación en curso tras el devastador terremoto que afectó a la República Bolivariana de Venezuela el 24 de junio de 2026.

El YBhg. Dato' Syed Mohamad Hasrin Tengku Hussin, Secretario General Adjunto (Asuntos Bilaterales), entregó un cheque por un monto de USD 150.000 a Su Excelencia el señor Radamés Jesús Gómez Azuaje, Embajador de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela en Malasia, como gesto de solidaridad y apoyo inquebrantable de Malasia hacia el Gobierno y el pueblo de Venezuela durante este período difícil.

Durante la ceremonia, el Secretario General Adjunto (Asuntos Bilaterales) transmitió las más profundas condolencias y el sentido pésame de Malasia al Gobierno y al pueblo de Venezuela, en particular a las familias que perdieron a sus seres queridos y a todos los afectados por el desastre. Asimismo, reafirmó el firme compromiso de Malasia con la asistencia humanitaria internacional y expresó su esperanza de que la contribución apoye las labores de socorro, recuperación y reconstrucción en curso en las zonas afectadas.

Malasia se solidariza con el Gobierno y el pueblo de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela y reafirma su compromiso de apoyar los esfuerzos humanitarios internacionales y de responder a las crisis humanitarias en el espíritu de la cooperación internacional.

28 August 2026 – The Embassy of Malaysia in Caracas, represented by Chargé d'Affaires ad interim, Mr. Beh Ching Chye, alongside the Heads of Mission of ASEAN Member States in Caracas, H. E. Vu Trung My, Ambassador of Viet Nam; H. E. Fikry Cassidy, Ambassador of Indonesia; and Mr. Óscar De Guruceaga, Honorary Consul of Thailand, successfully hosted an ASEAN Engagement Activity at the Eurobuilding Hotel.

The event was graced by Her Excellency Andrea Gabriela Corao Faria, Vice Minister for Asia, Middle East and Oceania, and Her Excellency Marynna Elena Saatdjian de Bracale, Vice Minister of International Trade. The event was also attended by Heads of Mission and diplomatic representatives from ASEAN Dialogue Partners and partner nations.

The casual and warm engagement provided a vital platform to strengthen ASEAN–Venezuela relations, discuss upcoming regional initiatives, and enhance regional connectivity, business collaboration, and people-to-people ties.

The ASEAN Committee in Caracas (ACC) also took the opportunity to bid a fond farewell to His Excellency Vu Trung My, Ambassador of Vietnam, who will be concluding his tenure in Venezuela in mid-September 2026.

ASEAN Day Celebration in Caracas

On 11 August 2026, the Embassy of Malaysia in Caracas, as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Caracas (ACC), proudly hosted the 59th ASEAN Day Wreath-Laying Ceremony. The event brought together the Embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam, along with the Honorary Consulate of Thailand in Caracas, to commemorate nearly six decades of ASEAN cooperation, friendship, and shared aspirations.

The ceremony was graced by H.E. Félix Plasencia, Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Venezuela.

Guided by the theme 'Navigating Our Future, Together,' ASEAN Day 2026 reflects our collective aspirations for a peaceful, prosperous, sustainable, and people-centered region.

The Embassy of Malaysia in Caracas extends its sincere appreciation to the participating ASEAN missions and guests for contributing to the success of this meaningful celebration of ASEAN solidarity and partnership.

On 13 July 2026, Mr. Beh Ching Chye, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Malaysia in Venezuela, met with Mr. Víctor Salom from Bruzual Mendoza Investments and Associates C.A. to explore opportunities for transferring technology and setting up a palm oil refinery plant in Venezuela.
