ACC Conducts Election Monitoring and Public Awareness in Luangwa District

Luangwa District Electoral Officer, Mr. Greyson Sakala, on 4 August 2026 received a courtesy call from officers of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), who were conducting election monitoring activities in the district ahead of the 13 August 2026 General Election.
During their visit, the ACC team attended political rallies and engaged members of the public to raise awareness about electoral corruption and related offences. They also assessed whether any acts of electoral corruption were taking place during the campaign period.
The officers educated members of the public on offences such as offering or receiving money or other incentives in exchange for National Registration Cards (NRCs), Voter's Cards, or votes.
They emphasized the importance of rejecting all forms of electoral corruption and reporting any suspected incidents to the relevant authorities.
The team further held discussions with electoral officials on electoral processes and measures aimed at preventing and combating electoral corruption throughout the election period.
