As a Department within the Ministry of Finance and Corporate Governance, led by its Commissioner, the IRD is responsible for administering the tax laws and collecting the respective taxes. The IRD proudly operates as the countryโ€™s premiere revenue collecting agency. In keeping with our vi

sion to maximize taxpayersโ€™ compliance and revenue collection, the primary goal is to foster voluntary compliance and collect the revenue due in an equitable and efficient manner to contribute to the economic growth and development of Antigua and Barbuda. In 2018, the Tax Administration and Procedures Act No. 12 of 2018 (TAPA) was enacted which modernized and consolidated all the enforcement and recovery of taxes into a single tax administration and procedures legislation. This consolidation has undoubtedly impacted positively on the efficiency and effectiveness in the administration of tax collection. The new tax administration and procedures legislation also includes an appeals division to improve the services offered to the taxpaying public, to make it even easier to pay โ€“ as tax is everybodyโ€™s business.

We honor the memory of our beloved coworker Mrs. Rholanda Benjamin-Grant, who joined the Civil Service as a Clerical Assistant on 8th February 1988, at the Inland Revenue Department.

During her dedicated years of service, Mrs. Benjamin-Grant faithfully served in several roles including Junior Clerk, Senior Clerk, Revenue Officer, Assistant Field Auditor II, Assistant Field Auditor I, Supervisor of Data Capture and Senior Program Monitoring Officer.

Mrs. Benjamin-Grant will be remembered not only for her dedication and hard work, but also for her kindness and presence within the Department. She will be greatly missed.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
