The Burdekin Local Disaster Management Group advises people in the Burdekin Local Government Area to ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฌ ๐๐ก๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ for ๐ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ flooding on the Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge.
The Burdekin Dam is currently at 3.75 m and steady, with minor flooding. The Burdekin Dam is likely to remain above the minor flood level (3.00 m) for the remainder of Thursday and Friday.
The Burdekin River at Inkerman gauge is currently at 7.45 m and steady, with minor flooding. The Burdekin River at Inkerman gauge is likely to remain above the minor flood level (7.00 m) for the remainder of Thursday and Friday.
Further showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the catchment over the next few days, which may cause additional river level rises across the Burdekin River catchment. The situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.

โข For those living in Rita Island, you may be isolated for an extended period of time if river levels rise. Make sure you have essential supplies to last for 5 days, including food, drinking water, medications and pet food.

โข Never drive, walk, ride through, play or swim in flood water. If itโs flooded, forget it.
โข Consider the consequences of road and bridge closures. Damage to roads, bridges or buildings caused by flooding and landslip may exist in your area. Consider the need to make alternate arrangements for work, children, and travel.
โข Drive to conditions and remain alert. Be aware of road hazards including mud, debris, and water in low lying areas.
โข Obey all signs about road closures and instructions from emergency services.
โข Tell friends, family, and neighbours in the area.
