Today marks Danny King’s final day as Deputy Group Captain after three years in the role. 🚒

Danny, thank you for the leadership, dedication, and steady hand you’ve brought to the position. Group 2 is better for your service.

Beyond the role itself, Danny has been a mentor to countless firefighters coming up through the ranks. He’s the bloke who’ll always make time, share what he knows, and back you in whether you’re new on the truck or stepping into a leadership role yourself. That kind of generosity shapes a brigade for the long haul. 🙏

The good news: Danny isn’t going anywhere. He’ll continue to serve with us at Braidwood, where he’s already clocked up more than half a century as a volunteer firefighter. Fifty years on the trucks is an extraordinary contribution that few will ever match.

From all of us at Braidwood: thank you, Danny. We’re lucky to still have you alongside us. 🧡
