Clifton Grove-Ophir Rural Fire Brigade

Today the brigade will farewell lifetime member Roy Ferguson. Roy became a member of the brigade in 1991 after moving from the Sydney area. During his time with the brigade he trained and mentored many of the past and current members. He held the role of Deputy Captain and Training officer for many year’s.
In 2005 Roy was awarded a bronze bravery medal by the Humane Society of Australasia and in 2007 the commissioners commendation for bravery.
Roy was a much loved member of the brigade and the community and will be sorely missed.
Ours thoughts today are with Roy’s wife Kerrie and his family.

There will be a hazard reduction commencing this morning, Starting at approximately 9am. You will see smoke on the eastern edge of Clifton Grove. This will be in the White hill lane area.
Trucks and crews be present throughout Clifton Grove and the burn area throughout the day.

Tomorrow is a TOTAL FIRE BAN — that means NO fires anywhere in the open.

❌ No campfires
❌ No burn-offs
❌ No fire pits or solid fuel BBQs
❌ No sparks, flames or embers outdoors

Conditions are dangerous and one small spark can start a major fire. Please do the right thing to protect lives, homes, stock and land.

Fire permits are required for ALL fires, at this time however the conditions DO NOT allow for them to be issued. Please be mindful of those around you, and our volunteers that attend and take time out of their life to attend your illegal fire.

There is a fire currently burning in the Mullion State forest. RFS and forestry crews are currently working on containment. They are being asssited by aircraft. Please remember if you put your drones into the air, the aircraft are not allowed to fly.
