SCHOOL SUPPORT RECOGNITION WEEK

This week we are celebrating some of the true superstars of Orange East Public School, our incredible school support staff!

We thought we’d have a little fun celebrating them this year. With some help from AI, we’ve given our support staff the superstar treatment they deserve – superheroes, rock stars, sporting champions, action heroes, royalty and more!

While the pictures might be a bit of fun, the message behind them certainly isn’t.

Our office staff, SLSOs, grounds, cleaning and canteen staff make an enormous contribution to our school every single day. They support our students, our teachers and our families and help keep OEPS running in countless ways, many of which happen quietly behind the scenes.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful group of people as part of the OEPS team.

This week, we celebrate them – our everyday superstars!

TICKET SALES START TOMORROW - 9AM ON TICKETEK!

There are two shows on Tuesday 22nd September, a matinee show at 11:00am and an evening show at 7:00pm. Both performances will be the same, and students will not require a ticket.

Further information about organisation of the day/ evening, as well as the Tech rehearsal on Monday 21st, will be sent out to families soon. Keep an eye on the School Bytes parent portal for more information to come.

OEPS SCHOOL PRODUCTION – 🎫🎟️🎉TICKET SALES THIS THURSDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER ON TICKETEK!! 🎉🎟️🎫

Preparations are well underway for our 2026 School Production, Lights, Camera, Action!, with rehearsals continuing across the school as classes prepare their items for what promises to be a fantastic celebration of our students.

All students will travel to the Orange Civic Theatre on Monday, 21st September for our full technical rehearsal. The production will then be performed on Tuesday, 22nd September, with two performances:

Matinee Performance – 11:00am
Evening Performance – 7:00pm

Tickets will go on sale through Ticketek this Thursday, 3rd September. Ticket prices are:

Children (3–16 years) – $15
Concession – $23
Adults – $25

A reminder that Orange East students participating in the production do not require a ticket, as they will be backstage throughout the performance. Every student will be involved in at least their class performance, with many also appearing as part of our dance troupes.

LUNCHTIME SNAPSHOT 📸

This group of kids absolutely loved sitting out in the sunshine today, playing Connect 4 and Jenga together. It was so lovely watching them chat, laugh, and enjoy the beautiful weather after a rainy week ☀️

Stage 3 Bowling Program

Our Stage 3 students have been having a fantastic time taking part in a four-session tenpin bowling program, made possible through a successful Sporting Schools Grant.

Across the sessions, students have been developing their bowling skills with expert coaching, while also having plenty of fun, encouraging one another and cheering on their classmates. There have been plenty of strikes, spares and celebrations along the way! With just one session left, it has been wonderful to see their confidence and skills grow each week.

A big thank you to Mr Neal for coordinating the program, and to the wonderful team at Orange Tenpin Bowl for welcoming our students, sharing their expertise and encouraging them every step of the way.

We’re looking forward to our final session!

AUTHOR TALK WITH COREY TUTT

Our Year 6 students had an inspiring afternoon with Corey Tutt!
They visited Glenroi Heights Public School for an engaging author talk with the DeadlyScience founder, who shared his passion for reptiles, science, and the power of Indigenous knowledge.

It was a fantastic experience that left our students buzzing with curiosity and excitement.

Many thanks to a group of Orange citizens and Collins Bookstore for sponsoring Corey’s visit and to Glenroi Heights PS for hosting the event.

🎳 INCLUSIVE TEN PIN BOWLING 🎳

Recently, four of our students had the opportunity to represent OEPS at the Inclusive Ten Pin Bowling Tournament.

It was a fantastic day filled with plenty of strikes, spares, smiles and encouragement! 🌟 Our students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to participate, challenge themselves and cheer each other on throughout the day. We are very proud of the way they represented our school.

A wonderful day of fun, participation and inclusion, well done team! 🎳👏 Thank you to Mr Neal for supporting our students on the day.

🪩🕺💃 PSO General Public ticket sale tomorrow!! 💃🕺🪩

If you didn’t secure tickets to the Public Schools Orange (PSO) performing arts showcase through the limited schools presale, tickets for the general public go on sale tomorrow, Monday 24th August at 9:30am via Ticketek.

Standard Ticketek terms and conditions will apply. General public tickets will cost $25 for adults or $15 for children under 17 years of age.
Students performing in our dance troupes will not need a ticket.

All OEPS dance troupes are performing in showcase evening 2 on Tuesday 8th September. If you intend to purchase tickets, we strongly advise being ready when the site opens.

Bringing together schools, students, staff, families and the wider community, Together is more than a concert – it is a celebration of connection, opportunity and belonging.

CASUAL CLOTHES FUNDRAISER DAY

Next Thursday 27th August, we invite all students to come to school in casual clothes and bring a gold coin donation for fundraising. All funds will go towards the live-streaming of the Public Schools Orange (PSO) performing arts showcase. Our Stage 1, 2 and 3 dance troupes are all performing at PSO this year, so we encourage all students to dress up and support this fundraiser for our dancers!
