Following community feedback, the NSW RFS has removed the 21-day limit on Burn Notifications outside of the Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP).

This means you can now submit a Burn Notification for any length of time during non-BFDP, without having to renew every 21 days.

You will still need to notify your neighbours at least 24 hours prior to lighting up.

🟡 ADVICE - GRASS FIRE - MICALAGO RD, MICHELAGO 🟡

Update 21.00pm: this fire is now under control.

Colinton RFB are attending a grass fire on Micalago Road, Michelago.

There is no immediate danger. Stay up to date in case the situation changes by downloading the Hazards Near Me app.

Training and the annual general meeting (AGM) is on tomorrow at the Shed.

Members eligible to vote will have received an email confirming eligibility and list of nominees for Field and Administrative Officers. Proxies (votes in absentia) to be submitted to our Secretary prior to AGM commencing.

🚒 Training will include incident response and electrical safety talk, starts at 1pm.
🗳 AGM will kick off at 3pm.

Even if you are not eligible to vote, observers and community are welcome at training and the AGM. See you there!

An incredible turnout to our Brigade Muster yesterday at Colinton Station, where we welcomed RFS and SES members from the Monaro, Lake George and ACT districts.

Thank you to all who travelled to make our day a success, sharing knowledge on all things emergency response - from pumping water through to managing Lithium battery fires.

An extra big thank you to the organising group for their efforts in pulling together a spectacular day. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!
