As the weather is cooling down before you light your wood heaters we recommend you have the flu cleaned and check for bird nests around the flu in your roof to help prevent the possability of a chimney fire .

Tonight for drill the crew undertook search and rescue /Firefighter down training to keep our skills honed

As the weather cools down we are seeing an increase in the amount of yard/rubbish fires we are being called to residents are reminded that coonamble shire council has a no burn policy (under the clean air act ) within town limits you cannot produce excessive smoke or smell (fines can apply).Yes you can have a fire pit/bucket (no bonfires) but please only burn dry well seasoned wood otherwise you may get a visit from us and please be mindful we are only doing our job because someone has called in the fire .
