A very bitter sweet moment today. Our very first guest at Gibir House, who became a mentor, who became a volunteer, who became a mate and who became family, moved away today. We are incredibly proud of this man. Proud of what he has overcome. Proud of the man he has become. Proud of the father he is now able to be. Proud of where his future is heading. We are truly grateful to have this man in our lives and a part of the Bunmabunmarra Services family. With a heavy heart and tears in my eyes, I thank you CE for being a once in a lifetime friend and wish you all the very best for your future.

We are proud to announce the expansion of Bunmabunmarra Services with the introduction of our Women’s Supported Temporary Accommodation in Dubbo.

This service has been developed to support women and women with children who are experiencing homelessness, domestic and family violence, and complex life challenges.

Delivered with the support of Homes NSW, this initiative strengthens access to safe, supported accommodation in our region — ensuring women and families are not left without options when they need them most.

Following the success of Gibir House, which has supported over 130 men in its first year, we are extending our model to women and families — creating safe spaces that are grounded in healing, cultural safety, and practical support.

Our Women’s Supported TA will provide:
• Safe, short-term accommodation for women and women with children
• Onsite support and supervision
• Access to case management and referral pathways
• A culturally safe, trauma-informed environment

At Bunmabunmarra, we know that real change comes from more than just a roof — it comes from connection, support, and walking alongside people as they rebuild.

This is a significant step forward for Dubbo and surrounding communities.

More updates to come as we prepare to open.

On Sunday, our team stood together at the March Against Violence.
We stood for our women.
We stood for our families.
We stood for our communities.
Because violence is not culture.
Violence is not love.
And it should never be normalised — not in our homes, not in our streets, not anywhere.
What made this moment even more powerful for me was standing alongside my daughter — the next generation.
She deserves a future where she is safe.
Where she is respected.
Where she is never made to feel that her voice, her choices, or her body are something to be controlled or harmed.
This is why we do this work.
This is why we speak up.
This is why we show up.
We are raising a generation who will not accept violence — who will challenge it and who will end it.
Bunmabunmarra stands against violence. Always.

Over the next five weeks, our leaders will be in Moree delivering DFV programs for Corrective Services, while also engaging with community through the Warrior Way.

They will be on the ground — hands on — walking alongside community, delivering programs, building connections, and creating space for real change.

Because change should never exist in silos.
It comes through collaboration, shared knowledge, and genuine connection.

What we are building in our community is not a one-size-fits-all model, but it is something that can be adapted and shaped to meet the needs of each community.

It is grounded in lived experience, in shared knowledge, and in Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing, and being.

And in between the work, taking moments to reset — sitting in the hot springs of Moree, practicing mindfulness, reflecting, and grounding ourselves in the purpose behind what we do.

This is how we create change that lasts.
This is how we build stronger, safer communities.

Bunmabunmarra is not just talking about change — we are on the ground, leading it.
