Western School Sports Association

Western School Sports Association Western School Sports Association (WSSA) is part of the Department of Education. It administers sports programs for public school students in Western NSW.

The aim of this page is to provide information related to the Association's affairs. This will include updates on trials such as cancellations and Association achievements. We welcome questions and comments. However, all comments are moderated and if they are not positive and in the spirit of our values, they will not be allowed on the page. Similarly, while you are welcome to send messages, we re

The countdown is on! We’re looking forward to welcoming students, parents, carers, officials and supporters to the Western Schools Sports Association Secondary Athletics Championships at Barden Park, Dubbo, this Friday, 31 July.

A few reminders for competitors:
πŸ… Arrive at the venue before 8:30am.
πŸ… Marshalling for the 1500m begins at 8:45am, with track and field events commencing from 9:00am.
πŸ… Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, appropriate footwear and any equipment required for your events.
πŸ… The canteen will be operating throughout the day, and programs will be available for purchase.

Important: If your child has a Do Not Publish status, please ensure your team manager is aware on arrival. Team managers will notify WSSA officials so we can ensure the appropriate arrangements are in place throughout the carnival.

We wish all athletes the very best as they compete for the opportunity to represent Western at the next level. Most importantly, enjoy the experience, support one another and give it your best effort.

Congratulations to the Western Golf players this week. Cooper Giddings finished 3rd overall and was named Captain of the NSW All Schools Golf team. He won Gold at NSWCHS and Bronze for All Schools. Rory finished Tied 15th and both Cooper and Rory named in the NSWCHS Merit team.
