A medal ceremony on Friday night recognised over 20 volunteers who have contributed more than 700 years of service to our local community.

19 Long Service Medals and Clasps, two National Medals, two NSW RFS - Windeyer Brigade Brigade Life Memberships and four Exceptional Service Awards were presented by Assistant Commissioner Leigh Pilkington - NSW RFS.

The following members were all presented their Long Service Medal for more than 50 years of service:
Shane Price of NSW RFS - Rylstone Brigade
Bruce Stanford of NSW RFS - Lawson Brigade Jim Baxter of NSW RFS - Bogee Brigade

๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations to all our members who were recognised for the decades of dedication, leadership and protection of our local community.

๐Ÿ‘ RFS volunteers dedicate countless hours to training, emergency response and community education, often alongside work and family commitments. The support of families, employers and friends is invaluable and helps make that service possible.

โ€œCheck your bleeping smoke alarmโ€ ๐Ÿ’จ ๐Ÿšจ

We love โค๏ธ this message from our mates at Fire and Rescue NSW Station 387 Mudgee.

Unfortunately there have already been a number of house fire fatalities already this year in NSW, especially with winter arriving.

If you havenโ€™t already, PLEASE ๐Ÿ™ make sure you change your batteries and check your alarms are working.

Donโ€™t make you wish youโ€™d checked your BLEEPING ๐Ÿคฌ smoke alarm if the unthinkable happens to you!

This Motherโ€™s Day, we celebrate the strength, dedication and compassion of mums everywhere, but especially those in our Cudgegong District.

Across the Mid-Western Regional Council area, we have lots of mothers, grandmothers, mothers-in-law, stepmothers, aunties and mother figures that give their time to help protect their communities. Whether they're on the frontline, supporting behind the scenes or holding down the fort at home, their contributions are extraordinary and never forgotten โค๏ธ

Today, we thank them for all they do, not just as NSW Rural Fire Service members but as leaders and role models in our brigades and communities.

Happy Motherโ€™s Day! ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿฉท

Did you realise that today is St Florianโ€™s Day? ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿš’๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿš’

Named after the patron saint of firefighters, this day is traditionally an opportunity to come together and recognise members who have gone above and beyond in service.

While we extend our gratitude to all members for their ongoing dedication, a ceremony was held today at the NSWRFS State Training Academy in Dubbo specifically honouring those who have demonstrated exceptional bravery in protecting the community or an outstanding level of commitment to the Service.

For more information on our worthy recipients, visit the website: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/news-and-media/st-florians-day-2026

Congratulations to each recipient ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ™
