Huon Refugee Support Group

Huon Refugee Support Group Supporting refugees to settle in the Huon Valley CRSI has established groups all over Australia, including here in the Huon Valley.

The Community Refugee Sponsorship Initiative (CRSI) was founded by a number of established not-for-profit organisations and funded principally by the Sidney Myer Foundation. It is modelled on the well-established Canadian community refugee sponsorship model and other small models around the world. Community refugee sponsorship can unlock the goodwill of ordinary Australians to help refugees succes

sfully settle and integrate in their local communities and supplement the government-led resettlement program. The Huon Refugee Support Group is made up of volunteers from the community who actively engage with refugees and people seeking asylum wishing to move to the Huon Valley. The group gives holistic, individualised and intensive support to help them integrate into the area.
