Today, one of our own received a Lifetime Volunteer Service Award, at the Huon Valley
Community Achievement Awards 🏅 47 years of dedicated volunteering for the Tasmania Fire Service, and the Huon Valley community.
Grant Woolley joined Huonville volunteer fire brigade in 1979, and has held many roles within the brigade. In 1994 Grant was the first member from Huonville to be deployed to the Mainland to a community that was foreign to him, then in 1998 Grant was elected brigade chief by his peers for a 4 year term.
Grant has now attended in excess of 1400 calls, he still attends trainings and incidents with a cheeky grin on his face and passes on his wealth of knowledge. He will always be our Guru of local conditions and terrain!
