Two members of our team have spent the last two weekends being trained up to be boat operators, having two more qualified boat crew strengthens the unit’s water response capabilities in times of need.( file photo , they were having to much fun to take photos)

Decent storm rolled through the area last night, luckily there was no reports of damage in town apart from one tree damaging powerlines, however trees blocking goldenfields way and gundagi road had trees down blocking it all the way to shire boundary where we met crews from gundagi working their way through the mess
With the help of Junee shire workers and local farmers with tractors we eventually cleared the roads

Out with the old, in with the new !
Today we received our new class 3 flood boat, the old boat G8 has served the unit very well for well over a decade and a half !
The new flood boat JUN731 is the latest generation, it comes fully stowed with the latest innovations, equipment and features required for operational use for many years to come !
Looking forward to getting in on the water and giving it a run

As part of the multi agency rescue units program our rescue operators got to trial the VRA’s new battery operated rescue tools
