We were blown away by the 60 community members throughout the morning who helped with the planting at Fivebough Wetlands! Over 350 shrubs and ground layer plants made it into the ground! 🌱

Thank you to all of the organisations who helped make today happen - Murrumbidgee Landcare Inc, Leeton Shire Council, Rotary Club of Leeton Inc, Hay Plains Landcare and Narrandera Landcare Group. 💚

Fivebough Wetlands Community Planting Day 🌳

Join us and Murrumbidgee Landcare Inc as we undertake a community planting day.

Everyone is welcome families, friends, neighbours, and first-time volunteers. No experience needed we’ll show you what to do!

🌭 Free sausage sandwich thanks to Rotary Club of Leeton Inc
🥤 Cans available for $2

🥾 What to bring & wear:
- Enclosed shoes
- Long pants
- Sun protection
- Reusable water bottle

🚘 Parking
Please park safely along Petersham Road and keep the small on-site parking area free for event vehicles and accessibility needs.

REMINDER: Our Environmental Grant closes on the 1st of May 2026.

Murrumbidgee Field Naturalists are calling for applications for the 2026 Environmental Fund Grants.

Grants of up to $5,000 will be considered to assist with conservation in general, environmental education, increasing biodiversity or enhancing the understanding of the natural environment within the Murrumbidgee Valley.

We have field trips around Griffith, Coleambally, Leeton, Narrandera, and Wagga Wagga and anyone from these regions with a project in mind is welcome to apply.

Meeting in the information bay off Edward St West.

Bring: Binoculars, water bottle, mozzie repellent, sunscreen & hat.

We carry a first aid kit and have some binoculars to use if you don’t have a set.
