There has been a lot of talk about post office closures and ensuring the viability of post offices recently.

So much, that there is now a senate inquiry and they are calling for submissions. You have to opportunity to have your say.

You can tell the senate what your local post office means to you. What services you use, or would like to have us be able to do for you, and what would happen if your post office was no longer around.

The post office is the heart of the community and we would hate for it to not be around for years to come.

So if you believe strongly, take this opportunity to have your say and be heard.

Big shout out to Bec Thomas for taking the time to drop in and have a chat with us about all things to do with our small business and community.
You never know who might walk in the door next. ☺️

Recently I accepted a lovely invitation from John and Michelle who are the licensees of the Lenah Valley Newsagency & Post Office to pop in and learn more about how this family-run business supports local residents and community members 🧡

John and Michelle's family have operated the Lenah Valley outlet for over 22 years, and it has become a trusted, familiar and reliable part of the local community 🫶

Like many small businesses, they do so much more than simply provide a service. Their shop is a place where people stop for a chat, seek assistance, collect important mail and parcels, and stay connected with what's happening locally. For many residents, particularly older members, having a welcoming and dependable local post office is invaluable.

I appreciated the opportunity to hear about the challenges facing local Australia post stores and to see firsthand the pride John and Michelle take in serving their community.

Happy Birthday Charlie (even though it’s actually November 14th) but in the meantime we’ll be taking Monday off to celebrate.
Reopening Tuesday 6:30am.

From 6pm tonight, we’ll be shut for all 4 day of the Easter long weekend.
You’ve still got time to drop in if you need to get your Tattslotto tickets for the weekend, or that last minute card, or grab a mag to read over the break, or that sodastream refill for entertaining. 🍹🍸
The post office is open until 5:45pm to take care of any bills or posting that you might have (*it will not get there before Easter).
Wishing all our lovely customers a very happy and peaceful Easter and we’ll reopen Tuesday 6:30am.
