Victoria Statewide TFB today!

πŸ”₯ TOTAL FIRE BAN – STATE WIDE πŸ”₯

The whole state of Victoria will be under a Total Fire Ban tomorrow. This means no fires are permitted in the open air β€” no burning off, no campfires, and no use of solid fuel barbecues. Hot, dry, and windy conditions mean any spark could quickly turn into a dangerous fire.

🚫 What You CAN’T Do:
β€’ No burning off or incinerators.
β€’ No campfires, bonfires, or solid fuel BBQs (wood, charcoal, etc.).
β€’ No welding, grinding, or cutting metal in the open air.
β€’ No use of farm machinery that could start a fire unless it’s essential and all fire safety precautions are in place.

βœ… What You CAN Do:
β€’ Use gas or electric BBQs only if:
β€’ They are fixed appliances under a roof within 2 metres of non-flammable material; or
β€’ They are portable gas/electric BBQs in a cleared area at least 3 metres from flammable materials, and you have a supply of water or extinguisher on hand.
β€’ Drive only on well-cleared tracks and avoid dry grass where your exhaust could start a fire.

πŸ”₯ If a fire starts:
β€’ Call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
β€’ Don’t assume someone else has reported it.
β€’ Follow the VicEmergency app, local radio, or CFA social media for updates.
β€’ If you feel unsafe, leave early β€” do not wait until you see smoke or flames.

Stay alert, stay informed, and help us keep our community safe.
Together, we can all play a part in preventing fires this summer.

Well that doesn't happen very often. Prepare for the worst possible fire conditions weve had in years. Be safe everyone especially my fellow firerys πŸ₯΅πŸ”₯πŸš’

A Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating has been currently forecast for Friday 9 January 2026 in the Northern Country, North Central and Wimmera districts. A Catastrophic rating signals the worst possible conditions for grass and bushfires. For your survival, leave bushfire risk areas - if a fire starts and takes hold, lives are likely to be lost.

An Extreme Fire Danger Rating has also been forecast for the remainder of the state. Take action now to protect your life and property.

Stay up to date with warnings and incidents via VicEmergency: www.emergency.vic.gov.au

Fire Danger Ratings are forecast using Bureau of Meteorology data up to four days in advance, but can change on the day. Therefore, it is important to check the Fire Danger Rating for your area every day and know which rating is your trigger to act.

Please watch your campfires and make sure they are out prior to leaving them.
