Mildura Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged a man following an attempted ram raid in Mildura on 6 June.

Police will allege the man attempted to force entry into a bottle shop on Riverside Avenue about 4.50am.

The man was unsuccessful and got into his vehicle before allegedly ramming the store’s roller door.

He subsequently attempted to enter the store through the damaged roller door however was unsuccessful again.

Detectives have since arrested and charged a 52-year-old man in relation to the incident.

He was remanded to appear at Mildura Magistrates’ Court on 9 June.

Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a man following a series of offences in the Mildura area over the past week.

The 28-year-old man and a 23-year-old Mildura woman were arrested in Red Cliffs without incident about 1.30pm this afternoon.

They were located in the backyard of a residential address on Buloke Street after several members of the public called triple zero (000).

The arrests follow a series of incidents in the Mildura area dating back to Thursday, 28 May which are being investigated by detectives from the Armed Crime Squad.

This includes an alleged armed robbery and non-fatal shooting on Hawthorne Grove in Mildura on 28 May, an assault at a business on Indi Avenue in Red Cliffs on 2 June, and a cross-border pursuit which ended in the Trentham Cliffs area this morning.

Over the past week, significant searches of the area have taken place involving detectives from the Armed Crime Squad and Mildura Crime Investigation Unit, local Mildura police, the Special Operations Group with support from NSW Police.

The 28-year-old Cardross man has been charged with multiple offences including aggravated burglary, reckless conduct endangering life, home invasion, prohibited person possess firearm and theft of motor vehicle.

He has been remanded to appear at Mildura Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

The Mildura woman was released without charge.

A third person, a 28-year-old Mildura man arrested last night in relation to the assault in Red Cliffs, remains in hospital under police guard.

Police have cautioned a 12-year-old boy following an attempted armed robbery at a business on Pine Avenue, Mildura on 30 May. Fortunately no one was injured in the incident.

At 09:30am this morning, Mildura Police attended an address on Karadoc Avenue, Irymple and arrested a 34-year-old Mildura man. He was wanted on an outstanding arrest and for numerous dangerous driving matters. The man will front the Mildura Magistrates court at a later date. Mildura Police want to thank the public for their assistance in this matter.

On Sunday 24/05 Mildura Police saw a green Holden Ute driving on driving on Eighth Street with their headlights off.

They pulled the Ute over and found that the driver was double the legal alcohol limit!😧

It is alleged that the driver, a 31-year-old male from Robinvale, was driving disqualified while under the influence of alcohol. The vehicle was impounded and the matter will be heard in the Mildura Magistrates Court at a later date.
