The first days of recovery for a starving Tawaki penguin are the hardest for our rehabilitators who are monitoring it 24/7. We are greatful for our KeldCo Security cameras which makes our jobs easier.

UPDATE: Sadly, the eagle passed away while on supportive care. The physical trauma to the beak and underlying infection were too difficult to overcome.
The Wedgetailed Eagle remains very unwell and on supportive care. Being monitored 24/7 with our KeldCo Security cameras.

Huge appreciation to McIntosh & Son staff John for calling about an injured raptor (Peregrine Falcon) and for getting me geared up to try to catch it. Unfortunately, it is still able to fly a little and escaped my net swoop. We will continue to monitor its movements for another rescue attempt. McIntosh & Son

UPDATE: Despite doing all we could, with vet assist, the eagle could not overcome the traumatic beak injury and underlying infection.
Thanks Claire 🙏 for the alert to an injured Wedgetailed Eagle in a farm paddock. Open paddock rescues are not easy, but luckily we were able to capture the Eagle and bring it into care.
