September is looking busy at Bogan Shire Library!

There is plenty happening throughout the month, including our regular Story Time, CCWF Story Time and Baby Time sessions, along with NAIDOC Week activities and some special events to kick off the school holidays.

Highlights include Author Meredith Downes visiting on Tuesday 29 September, plus LEGO and craft activities, and our Echidna Craft sessions on Thursday 1 October.

HAVE YOUR SAY – AFTER-SCHOOL HOMEWORK & LITERACY SUPPORT

Thank you to everyone who attended our recent information and feedback session at the Bogan Shire Library, we are now we are now seeking broader community feedback.

We are currently gathering feedback from parents and carers about the potential introduction of an after-school Homework Club and literacy support activities at the Library. We understand that completing homework and learning at home can present challenges for families.

Your feedback will help us understand what supports might be needed to help shape activities that local families would find most useful in keeping children motivated, encouraging reading, completing homework and supporting individual learning styles. This may include a designated homework space, reading support, literacy games, take-home learning resources and preferred days for support.

Please note: this is currently a community engagement phase, with any future activities to be shaped by local feedback and community needs. It is intended to provide additional support for families, not replace school-based learning or curriculum.

REMINDER: BOOK WEEK DISCO ON TOMORROW AT THE LIBRARY

Come along to the Bogan Shire Library tomorrow from 3:30pm–4:30pm for an afternoon of fun, games, dancing and Book Week dress-ups!

Dress as your favourite book character and join in the fun, with prizes to be won- We can’t wait to see you there!

Please note: Children under 12 years of age must be supervised by a parent, carer or responsible adult aged 18+.

📚 PARENTS, CARERS & FAMILIES – WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Bogan Shire Library is exploring the introduction of after-school Homework Club and tutoring sessions to provide additional learning and literacy support for local students.

We’re inviting parents, carers and students to come along to our FREE community information session and help us shape what this could look like for our community.

After-School Tutoring and Learning Information Session
Thursday 20 August at 3.30 pm

Parents and carers are invited to attend an informal information session to:

Share feedback about local tutoring and learning support needs
Discuss the types of sessions families would like offered
Learn about new literacy and educational games available to borrow
Discover fun ways to support learning and engagement at home

Book Week Craft Session
Monday 24 August
After School Craft Session from 3.30 pm to 4.30pm

Join us after school for a creative Book Week craft activity celebrating this year’s theme, “Symphony of Stories”.

Book Week Dress-Up Disco
Thursday 27 August from 3.30 pm

Dress as your favourite book character and enjoy an afternoon of music, dancing and Book Week fun. There will also be prizes to be won.

All ages are welcome. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

We're excited to welcome everyone to the freshly upgrade Library space!
Our regular children's programs return this month, including:
Story Time – Tuesdays, 10:30am–11:30am
Story Time with CCWF – Wednesdays, 10:00am–12:00pm
except for July 8 and 15)
Baby Time – Fridays, 11:00am–12:00pm
We look forward to seeing both familiar and new faces throughout July. Drop in, borrow a book, attend a program, or simply enjoy our newly refreshed space!
