🚧 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES – Blessing of the Fleet Festival 🚧

To support the safe and successful conduct of the Port Pirie Blessing of the Fleet procession this Sunday 13 September, the following temporary road closures will be in place on the day:

🕕 6:00 am – 4:30 pm:
➡️ Boat Ramp, Port Pirie

🕑 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm:
➡️ Gertrude Street – between St Mark’s Cathedral and Norman Street
➡️ Norman Street – between Gertrude Street and Ellen Street
➡️ Main Road / Ellen Street – between Gertrude Street and the Boat Ramp
➡️ Main Road / Ellen Street – between the Boat Ramp and Main Road

These closures are enacted under Section 33 of the Road Traffic Act 1961.

📢 ROADWORKS NOTICE: AUGUSTA HIGHWAY & FLINDERS VIEW DRIVE, NELSHABY

McMahon Services will be undertaking road surfacing works on Augusta Highway and Flinders View Drive, Nelshaby on Wednesday 9 September and possibly on Thursday 10 September 2026.

🚧 Road Closure:
To facilitate these works, Flinders View Drive will be closed to traffic from 7:00am to 5:00pm, subject to weather and site conditions.

➡️ Detour in Place:
Road users are requested to use the designated detour via Nelshaby Road, allow extra travel time, and follow all temporary traffic signs and directions from traffic controllers.

✅ Business as usual for Harry’s Homemade Fine Foods.

📢 City Park Accessible Toilet Temporarily Out of Action

Due to recent vandalism at City Park, the accessible toilet is currently unavailable until further notice.

Please note that alternative facilities are available, including the male and female public toilets at City Park as well as the accessible toilet facilities at Flinders View Park on Ellen Street, just a short distance away.

Port Pirie Regional Council is disappointed by this damage to a community facility. We encourage everyone to keep an eye out for suspicious behaviour and report any concerns to SAPOL.

📢 Upcoming Kerb Construction Works: Bowman Street, Crystal Brook 🚧

As part of Council's ongoing Kerb Renewal Program, contractors will be undertaking new kerb construction works in Bowman Street, Crystal Brook next week.

Works details:
➡️ Works are scheduled to commence on Monday, 7 September 2026 and are expected to take approximately two weeks to complete.
➡️ Around 275 metres of new rollover kerb will be constructed along Bowman Street, from Busbridge Road back towards the township.
➡️ Traffic management and reduced speed signage will be in place for the duration of the works.

Council thanks residents and road users for their patience and cooperation while these improvements are carried out.

Please take care when travelling through the area and follow all signage and directions from traffic controllers. 🚧👷‍♂️
