🚧 O’Shaughnessy Bridge Works: Road Closure Notice 15-17 June 🚧

Port Pirie Regional Council advises that as part of our Capital Works Program, maintenance works will be undertaken on O’Shaughnessy Bridge, Wandearah Road (Nurom) commencing Monday 15 June.

Road Closure Details:
➡️ Wandearah Road will be closed between Spencer Highway and Augusta Highway
➡️ Works are expected to take 3 days to complete (weather permitting) with daily closure times 7am – 5pm
➡️ Local traffic only will be permitted through the work area
➡️ All other traffic will be detoured via: Clements Road, Abattoirs Road
(please refer to the attached detour plan)

✨ Great work, Darcy! ✨

Darcy recently completed the 1001 Books Before School Program which promotes reading to young children and encourages bonding between children and their caregivers.

If you'd like to find out more about the program or sign your little one up, visit the Port Pirie Library or Crystal Brook Library 📚

Darcy came into the Crystal Brook Library today with his mum Holly and was presented with his certificate and prize pack.

Darcy is nearly five years old.

Darcy commenced on the 29th of May 2023 and completed it on the 6th of May 2026.

The 1001 Books Before School Program is an ongoing program that promotes reading to young children and encourages bonding between children and their caregivers. The program is aimed at newborns, infants and toddlers, and can be started at any time before the child starts school.

Prizes are given out for every 100 books that are read, and on completion of the challenge the child will be awarded a certificate and prize pack.

🚧 KOOLUNGA STORMWATER DRAINAGE UPGRADES 💧

Works are underway to improve stormwater drainage in Koolunga — helping keep our roads safer and reducing flooding during heavy rain 🌧️

Upgrades will take place across Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Streets as well as Yacka Rd and Levee Bank Rd intersection.

📅 When: 1 June – 14 July 2026

While there may be some disruptions, these upgrades are an important investment in the town’s infrastructure and long-term resilience.

Please follow all signage and allow extra travel time during this period.
