A warm welcome to the four new probationary constables joining the Monaro Police District from Class 369! 👮👮‍♀️

With four officers starting at Queanbeyan Police Station, it’s especially great to see local members returning home to begin their policing careers in the communities that helped shape them.

The new officers were joined on their Induction Day by NSWPF Support Services, and family members as they were officially welcomed into the district.

We wish them all the best as they begin their journey serving the Monaro community. 💙

Police are appealing for public assistance after two alleged robbery incidents in Karabar and Jerrabomberra.

About 6.30pm yesterday (Saturday 22 August 2026), officers attached to Monaro Police District attended an address on Alfred Place, Karabar, and were told a 27-year-old man arranged to meet two unknown men who wanted to purchase an item of jewellery.

The two unknown men allegedly assaulted the 27-year-old man before allegedly stealing the jewellery.

About 7pm today (Sunday 23 August 2026), officers from Monaro Police District attended an address on Gabriel Avenue, Jerrabomberra, and were told an unknown man attended the address and allegedly stole a collectable card without paying.

As inquiries continue, police are hoping to speak with two men of Caucasian appearance aged in their 20s.

One man was described as wearing a dark puffer jacket, while the other man was also wearing a dark puffer jacket and having a small chin beard.

They may be driving a silver Skoda station wagon.

Police are urging members of the public to be cautious when arranging the purchase or sale of items online and report any suspicious behaviour.

About 12.45pm today (Saturday 22 August 2026), emergency services were called to the Mowamba River Bridge on the Snowy River Way, just south of Jindabyne, after reports of a vehicle crashed into an Armco railing and rolling multiple times.

The driver treated by NSW Ambulance paramedic and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A dog was ejected from vehicle landed and in the nearby river, before being rescued by nearby residents. The dog received minor injuries.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
