Raymond Terrace Rural Fire Brigade consists of around 40 Volunteer Fire Fighters,
Attending around 150 Fire Calls per year being a mixture of Bush Fires, Structure Fires, Car Fires, Grass Fires, Oil Spills, Assisst Ambulance NSW, Automatic Fire Alarms, and ofcourse False Alarms. We provide Fire Protection to Raymond Terrace, Heatherbrae, Millers Forest, Sixmile, Twelve Mile, also provide
back up

to our neighbouring brigades, Raymond Terrace (432 FRNSW) Tarro (454 FRNSW)
RFS brigades, Medowie, Thornton, Seaham, Clarencetown, Salt Ash, Karuah, Bowthorne/Hinton As well as other areas across Lower Hunter where assistance is needed. We operate two Appliances,
RAYMOND TERRACE 1, Seating 6, 3500 Litres of water and carrying Fire Fighting Equipment for Bush Fires,House Fires, Oil Spills and much more. RAYMOND TERRACE 7, Seating 6 1300 Litres of water and carrying Fire Fighting Equipment for Bush Fires, Oil Spills and much more.

Did you know that we don’t always use water to put out a fire?

Sometimes the fire is in a location we can’t reach easily with hose and so we use hand tools or blowers to remove the fuel from the fire and starve it.

This video was taken late last night on the Masonite Rd fire and shows the effectiveness of a blower in containing a fire.

🚨 Incident Update – Masonite Rd Fire, Tomago 🚨

NSW RFS crews worked through the night strengthening containment lines, undertaking tactical burns, and utilising heavy plant equipment to assist in containing the Masonite Rd fire at Tomago.

πŸ”₯ Crews remain in attendance today, and residents may notice smoke in the area.

The fire is currently BEING CONTROLLED and is at ADVICE level.

NSW RFS crews from across Lower Hunter and Central Coast are currently remain on scene of the fire at Masonite Rd, Tomago.

Crews are putting in tactical burns to strengthen containment.

There will be smoke visible in the area. Only call 000 if you see a fire without a fire truck in attendance.

Remember to slow to 40kmph when passing emergency vehicles with red and blue lights activated.

ADVICE: A fire has started in a pine forest in Tomago. The fire is being attended my multiple crews who are working to contain the fire. Please monitor the situation and if you can, avoid the area.
