North Rockhampton State High School North Rockhampton State High School is the official home of the Hawks! North Rockhampton State High School has been established since 1956.

Established since 1956, we encourage our students to be responsible and respectful learners who strive for excellence. The school currently has approximately 1000 students enrolled and has built a strong reputation as an academic, cultural and sporting State High School. At North Rockhampton State High School we believe that the capacity for respect (of ourselves, others and the environment), excellence (high standards), responsibility (teamwork and leadership) and learning (critical, creative and reflective thought) are uniquely human attributes for young people to reach their full potential as contributing citizens.

🚨 PRINCIPAL'S WRAP – WEEK 10! 👏
It’s our final Principal’s Wrap for the term, and Ms Bunn has finished on a high with a little help from our Year 7 students and some very special little learners! 👏

This week she:

👾 Helped our Year 7 students deliver their Monster Project creations to the Preps at our Primary Partner Schools — Mount Archer State School, Berserker Street State School and Parkhurst State School. We’re sure the monsters were very excited to meet their new friends! 📚💙

📖 Visited our Year 11 Literature students as they explored the play Death of a Salesman. The students put their understanding into action by arranging the story timeline — bringing the events of the play to life! 🎭👏

From monsters to modern literature, Ms Bunn has certainly kept busy this term!

And that’s a wrap for Term 3! A huge thank you to everyone who has followed along with our Principal’s Challenge and thank you to Mount Morgan State High School, Rockhampton State High School and Glenmore State High School for participating with us!

Next term, we might even have to give a shout-out to our fellow principals across other regions — so watch this space! 👀

Congratulations to Ivy on being accepted into the Gadalung Program with the University of Sydney! She will attend a three-day camp later this month, exploring university life and future study opportunities.

Congratulations to William on securing a School-Based Apprenticeship with CQ Trees Rockhampton! This fantastic opportunity will allow him to gain valuable industry experience while completing Year 12, with plans to transition into a full-time apprenticeship after graduation.

A huge thank you to Lewis from CQ Trees Rockhampton for supporting William and helping him take this exciting step towards his future career! 🙌

🚨 PRINCIPAL'S WRAP – WEEK 9! 👏
Another week, another look behind the scenes with Ms Bunn — and this week there was plenty of buttercream, a little friendly competition and some important conversations about looking out for one another!

This week she:

🧁 Returned to the kitchens to visit our Year 10 Hospitality students as they undertook the icing of their cakes as part of their piping unit. There was SOOO much buttercream, but our students did an amazing job! 🎂👏

💛 Joined our R U OK? Day activities, getting involved in the fun with a few games of Ring Toss and Connect Four. She decided to leave the limbo to the professionals, but happily enjoyed a sausage and a cupcake while connecting with students and asking the all-important question: R U OK? 🌭🧁

🏉 A huge thank you to the Capras for joining us for the activities, fun and important conversations that helped make the day so special! ❤️

From piping cakes to playing games and strengthening connections, Ms Bunn has once again been out and about seeing what makes North Rocky such a great place to be!

🚨 PRINCIPAL'S WRAP – WEEK 8! 👏❤️
Another week, another look behind the scenes with Ms Bunn — and this week she was spreading appreciation, getting hands-on with Health Bundle and discovering what our students have been creating!

This week she:

🎁 Became our very own Gift Fairy, delivering a little appreciation to our amazing Teacher Aides as part of Teacher Aide Appreciation Week. A big thank you to the people who make such a difference to our students every day! ❤️

🩺 Took on the role of a patient for our Health Bundle students, putting their practical skills to the test as she was assisted out of bed, went for an assisted walk and had her blood pressure and temperature checked. We think she may have been a very cooperative patient! 😂

🧁 Visited our Year 10 Hospitality students as they whipped up a batch of delicious scones — but discovered there was a little disagreement about the correct way to eat them! Apparently, breaking a scone in half and enjoying it as a little sandwich with filling in the middle isn't everyone's preferred method! 😂 We’ll let the students decide...

🔨 Checked out our Year 10 Design Technology (Manual Arts) students as they brought their term project to life — building, gluing and staining their very own coffee tables. We can't wait to see the finished products!

From celebrating our staff to getting hands-on with student learning, Ms Bunn has once again been busy connecting with our Hawks and seeing the incredible work happening across North Rocky! 👏
