Have questions about the future of Anambah to Branxton (A2B)?

Spanning 15,000 hectares across Cessnock, Maitland and Singleton local government areas, Anambah to Branxton is one of the Hunter Region’s most significant future growth areas.

It includes these areas in the Singleton LGA:
📍Belford
📍Branxton
📍Dalwood
📍Huntlee
📍Leconfield
📍North Rothbury

We’re preparing a webinar with the project team and consultants to explain the draft Structure Plan, the public exhibition process and answer common questions from the community.

If you’ve got a question about the draft Plan, submit it by Sunday 13 September to help inform the webinar.

🚧 JERRYS PLAINS RECREATION GROUND UPGRADE

Work is set to begin on a $445,000 upgrade to Jerrys Plains Recreation Ground, delivering improvements to accessibility, drainage, parking and connections throughout the site.

From Monday 7 September 2026, the camping area will be closed for approximately 16 weeks while works are completed.

The upgrade will include:
🚗 New access roads and improved parking
💧 Drainage upgrades and earthworks
🚶 New pedestrian pathways and improved connectivity
♿ Improved accessibility across the site
🌳 Improvements to the overall amenity of the recreation ground for community, event and camping use

During construction, the camping grounds, entrance road and reserve on Wambo Street will be closed to the public. The hall will remain accessible to users.

The project is fully funded through the United Wambo Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA).

These works will deliver long-term improvements for residents, campers, community groups and visitors who use the recreation ground.

We thank the community for their patience and understanding while these important upgrades are completed.

The Hunter is growing — and we have an opportunity to shape that growth together.

Spanning 15,000 hectares across Cessnock, Maitland and Singleton local government areas, Anambah to Branxton is one of the Hunter Region’s most significant future growth areas.

The draft Anambah to Branxton Regionally Significant Growth Area Structure Plan is now on public exhibition. It sets out a long-term guide for how the area can grow, taking a different approach by putting infrastructure and community needs at the heart of planning from the outset.

The draft Plan looks at:
🏡 Housing and employment
🚌 Transport and infrastructure
🏫 Schools and community facilities
🌿 Protecting important environmental and agricultural areas.

🚧 JERRYS PLAINS RECREATION GROUND – FREE CAMPING AREA CLOSED FROM 7 SEPTEMBER

The Jerrys Plains Recreation Ground free camping area, entrance road and reserve on Wambo Street will be closed from Monday 7 September 2026 for approximately 16 weeks to make way for improvements to accessibility, drainage, parking and connections throughout the site.

Hey Bulga and Milbrodale residents! 📣

Head along to this drop-in session and hear about the proposed projects that could benefit your community.

Round 2 of the Mount Thorley Warkworth VPA Funding Program is open now.

As part of the program, applicants will have their proposed projects available for the community to learn about during a drop-in info session.

The community will also have the opportunity to provide valuable feedback and evidence of support that can include used in applications.

🏉🔴 We’re proudly backing the Singleton Greyhounds by lighting the Singleton Sundial red ahead of this Sunday’s historic grand final day at Scone Park.

For the second consecutive year, the Under 18s, Reggies and First Grade teams will all take the field on Upper Hunter rugby league’s biggest stage, a fantastic achievement that reflects the hard work, dedication and talent across the club.

Good luck to all the players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and everyone involved in another outstanding season.

Let’s get behind our Red Dogs and cheer them on as they chase grand final glory! 🐾
