๐๐ Book Week 2026 โ The Storm That Followed Me โ๏ธ๐
Today we celebrated Book Week by reading the beautiful story The Storm That Followed Me, written by Jaimi Purcell.
The story follows a little girl who discovers a tiny storm cloud following her wherever she goes. Even during the happiest moments, the storm can make her big feelings feel overwhelming. With Mum by her side, she learns that there are simple strategies she can use to calm the โrumbleโ inside and, most importantly, that storms donโt last forever and we are never alone beneath the sky. ๐ง๏ธ๐ค๏ธ
This beautiful story gave our students the opportunity to talk openly about big emotions and build their very own toolkit of strategies they can use when theyโre having a cloudy day. ๐ญโค๏ธ
The students then created their own beautiful artworks, drawing their happy rainbow in the background, adding their rain and clouds, and sharing a strategy they use when theyโre feeling overwhelmed. ๐โ๏ธ๐ง๏ธ
Over the coming week, these special artworks will be displayed around our school as a reminder to all students that cloudy days happen, big feelings are okay, and there are strategies we can use to help us through them. ๐
