A wonderful morning was enjoyed at this weekโ€™s Mornings, Melodies & Memories gathering in Barmedman.

Guests enjoyed a delicious morning tea while testing their knowledge with music and general trivia, along with plenty of laughs and great conversation along the way.

Available from Friday, 12 June 2026 on Councilโ€™s website, or in person at the Council Administration Office and Library.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Public Forum โ€“ 6.00pm
A Public Forum will be held from 6pm to allow members of the public to address the Council on items included in the agenda. Members of the public who wish to address Council must apply via [email protected] before 12pm the day prior to the meeting. They must identify the item of business on the agenda and indicate whether they wish to speak โ€˜forโ€™ or โ€˜againstโ€™ the item. Each speaker may address Council for up to three minutes.

Council rates were due on 31 May. If you havenโ€™t paid your rates yet, we kindly ask that you make arrangements as soon as possible.

Each quarter, Bland Shire Council spends valuable time and resources issuing reminder notices for overdue rates. By paying on time, those resources can instead be directed back into projects and services that benefit our community.

If youโ€™ve already paid, thank you for your prompt payment. If you need assistance or would like to discuss payment options, our team is here to help.

๐ŸŒพ Grants Available to Help Build Drought Resilience ๐Ÿ’ง

Community groups and not-for-profit organisations across regional Australia are encouraged to apply for funding through the Future Drought Fundโ€™s Communities Program, delivered by the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR).

More than $3 million is available to support projects that strengthen social connection, wellbeing and drought preparedness in agriculture-dependent communities. Grants of up to $100,000 are available for eligible initiatives.

Projects could include:
โœ” Community events and networking opportunities
โœ” Leadership, education and training programs
โœ” Small-scale community infrastructure
โœ” Activities that improve drought preparedness and community resilience

Applications for Round 2 close on 30 June 2026.
