Your local volunteer response for floods, storms and earthquakes - dial 132 500 for assistance 24/7.

Victoria State Emergency Service (SES) is the control agency for flood, storm, tsunami and earthquake in Victoria, managing responses to these emergencies and helping communities to prepare through planning and education. As well as operating the largest road rescue network in Australia, we also assist the Victoria Police in search and rescue operations and play an important support role during major bushfire responses.

A bit of fun on a Monday…let us know what your SES name would be…and if you’re inspired, maybe a volunteer role in the SES is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for 🧡 Our name would be Wise Local Flood Guide.

What a difference a coat of paint makes. We are very excited to see the makeover of the Woodend SES unit building. 🧡🧡 How good does it look!!

There’s a few people that need a huge thank you for enabling this to happen:
🧡The staff at SES facilities.
🧡Tevelein Painters
🧡Our Deputy Controller of assets, Wes and Section Leader of assets, Simon for all the planning and coordinating.
🧡Unit member (all volunteers) at SES Woodend Unit who helped move everything to allow the building to be painted (a huge job).

🌧️ Heavy rainfall is forecast for parts of Victoria tomorrow, Sunday 25th October, with rain affecting western and central districts before heading towards eastern Victoria during the afternoon. Some heavy falls are possible in the north-east ranges, and isolated thunderstorms may develop before easing overnight.

📱Now is the time to keep an eye on local weather conditions and stay informed as conditions can change quickly via the VicEmergency app.

⚠️ If you need assistance from VICSES call 132 500 and never drive through floodwater.

🧡We would like to send a huge thank you to Macedon Nursery and Garden Supplies for their generous donation (and same day delivery) of 1.5 cubic metres of native soil mix.

There’s lots of changes happening around our unit and donations like this are very appreciated. If you’re doing work around the garden…support this awesome local business.🧡
