Special thanks to The Seychelles President H.E. Patrick Herminie, to the Vice President H.E. Sebastien Pillay, to the PS at the State House Seychelles Ginnie Eeman Lucas, and of course the Editors Rassin Vannier and Betymie Bonnelame, also to the M3 Communications Group, Inc. team led by Toncho Tonchev!

New Leadership of the Republic of Seychelles 🇸🇨

On 26 October 2025, H.E. Dr. Patrick Herminie officially assumed office as President of the Republic of Seychelles, alongside H.E. Mr. Sebastien Pillay, who became Vice President.

The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Seychelles in Bulgaria and Honorary Consul General Mr. Maxim Behar extend their warmest congratulations and best wishes for success in their new mandates.

On May 1st, the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2025 officially kicked off in Seychelles – marking the first time this prestigious tournament is being held in an African island nation, set against the stunning tropical backdrop of the Indian Ocean. The event promises to be one of the most exciting sports highlights of the year, attracting both football fans and visitors from around the world.

The opening day delivered three thrilling matches:

• Japan 6:2 Guatemala (Group A)
The Japanese team dominated from the start, securing a confident victory with fast-paced, well-coordinated play.

• Mauritania 4:5 Iran (Group B)
A dramatic and intense match, with Iran clinching the win in the final moments.

• Seychelles 3:6 Belarus (Group A)
The host nation showed great spirit and scored three goals, but ultimately fell to the more experienced Belarusian side.

Local fans welcomed the teams with warmth and enthusiasm, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere from day one.

The tournament will run through mid-May, as the world's top national teams battle it out for the championship title. Meanwhile, Seychelles steps into the global spotlight as a new and promising destination for international sports.

It was great to celebrate last night the start of the Polish Presidency of the EU in the wonderful park Lumina on the outskirts of Sofia alongside the Ambassador of Poland, H.E. Maciej Szymański, friends, and colleagues. I am confident it will be a great presidency in these difficult times, but the Polish have proved they can manage precisely that.
