Congratulations to Our Lucky Lottery Winners!

As part of the 1st Sherubtse Network Carnival, held on 28th July 2026, the Community Service and Engagement Network (CSEN) organized a Lucky Lottery Draw as one of its fundraising initiatives.

The carnival was organized to introduce first-year students to the various student units within the college, helping them understand their roles, activities, and contributions while encouraging them to become active and engaged members of the Sherubtse community. The event also served as a platform for raising funds to support future unit activities and community engagement programs.

As a community service-oriented network, CSEN will utilize the funds raised through this lottery to support future community service initiatives, outreach programs, and other activities aimed at creating a positive impact within and beyond the college community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who purchased lottery tickets and supported this cause. Your generosity and participation have contributed to the success of this initiative and will help us continue serving the community through meaningful projects.

Leadership comes with responsibility, but many student leaders take on the role with little formal preparation. To change that, Sherubtse College is now home to the University Students Leadership Development Centre, the first dedicated centre to train student leaders from colleges under the Royal University of Bhutan.

On 30th June 2026, the Social Service Unit (SSU) carried out its monthly ration support visit to our beneficiary, Mr. Tenzin, residing in Ritshangdung. This visit was not only an opportunity to provide essential assistance but also a reminder of the power of compassion and community solidarity in improving the lives of those facing difficult circumstances.

During the visit, the SSU team delivered essential ration items, including refined oil, salt, sugar, and basic toiletries, to help support his daily needs and well-being. In addition, the SSU girl members generously volunteered their time and energy to clean his house, helping create a cleaner, healthier, and more comfortable living environment. Their dedication and willingness to serve exemplify the true spirit of volunteerism and care.

Beyond the material support, the team spent quality time with Mr. Tenzin, checking on his well-being, listening to his experiences, and offering companionship. Such moments of connection remind us that kindness is not measured only by what we give, but also by the time and care we share with others.

This monthly support activity remains part of SSU’s ongoing commitment to reducing hardship, preserving dignity, and ensuring that vulnerable members of our community are not forgotten. While every visit brings comfort and hope, the continuation of this initiative depends greatly on the generosity of compassionate individuals and well-wishers.

As we look ahead to the coming months, we warmly invite anyone who wishes to make a meaningful difference in someone's life to join us in this noble cause. On 9 and 10 May 2026, the Social Service Unit (SSU) team volunteered to assist in the construction of a toilet for a needy family in Ritsangdung (Chema). The activity was organized as part of the unit's commitment to community service and supporting vulnerable households. Members contributed their time and labor to help build a safe and functional toilet facility for the family.

The initiative aimed to improve sanitation, hygiene, and the overall living conditions of the beneficiary family. Access to proper sanitation facilities is essential for maintaining good health and dignity, and this support helped address an important need within the household. The activity also strengthened the spirit of volunteerism, compassion, and community engagement among SSU members
