Electricity is not a luxury, it is an essential service. Our families should not be forced to choose between paying their light bill and putting food on the table.

The latest electricity rate increase comes at a time when Belizeans are already feeling the pressure of higher prices for food, transportation, rent, and other necessities. After nearly $400 million in public investment in electricity infrastructure, consumers deserve answers and tangible benefits!

I fully support the UDP’s call for the immediate rollback of this latest electricity rate increase and for Government and the PUC to put the interests of Belizean consumers first.

Dangriga deserves better. Belizean families deserve relief. And we must continue to demand accountability.

A MESSAGE FROM THE UDP DANGRIGA CARETAKER

Congratulations to Team Dwayne Sampson on your successful convention victory! Your hard work, commitment, and determination have been rewarded, and I look forward to working alongside you as we move forward.

I also want to applaud Team Christalyn Castillo for running a strong and spirited campaign. Your dedication, hard work, and commitment to the people of Dangriga did not go unnoticed. You have every reason to be proud of the effort you put forward.

A heartfelt thank you to the 887 voters who came out to participate in our democratic process. Your participation is what makes our party and our democracy stronger.

I extend sincere appreciation to all our campaigners, Election Day workers, drivers, cooks, volunteers, and everyone who contributed in any way to making Convention Day a success. Your service and sacrifice are deeply appreciated.

Now, the convention is behind us, and the work ahead requires all of us. As UDP Dangriga, we must put differences aside, embrace one another, and move forward in unity, respect, and purpose. There is much more that unites us than divides us, and our focus must remain on the greater good of our community.

As Caretaker, I am committed to working with everyone including those who supported Team Dwayne, those who supported Team Christalyn, and those who participated in the process to strengthen our organization and build a stronger UDP Dangriga.

The next municipal elections are scheduled for March 2027, and we are already getting ready to win. Together, united and focused, we will take our message of service, progress, and opportunity to every corner of Dangriga.
