🎓 Take Your Kids to Work Day 2026 is coming to CDCD for another year!

Inspired by this year's theme, “Different Perspectives, Shared Direction,” we're inviting Grade 9 students to explore diverse career paths, connect with CDCD staff, and discover how different skills and perspectives help build stronger communities!

Through hands-on activities and workplace experiences, students will gain valuable insights and inspiration for their future careers.

Join us this Saturday for CDCD’s Customer Service and Cashier Training at the Ajax Welcome Centre!

Eligibility: Newcomer youth ages 14–29

This interactive training includes hands-on practice, role-playing scenarios, and practical learning to help you build valuable customer service and cashier skills.

This Thanksgiving, we’re hosting our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive this Friday, October 9th! We’re still collecting donations to support families in our community. We welcome donations of pasta, rice, flour, snacks, non-perishable food items, and hygiene products.

Donation drop-off deadline: Tomorrow, October 8!

🎉 Celebrating CDCD’s 2026 Annual General Meeting!

We recently came together for our 56th Annual General Meeting (AGM) to reflect on another meaningful year of serving Durham Region, recognize important milestones, and look ahead to the opportunities and work to come.

Guided by this year’s theme, “Trusted Service. Impacting Lives. Transforming Communities,” the evening celebrated the dedication of our staff and volunteers and recognized the valued partnerships that continue to strengthen our work across the community.

We were grateful to hear meaningful messages from our Executive Director, Board members, political leaders, and keynote speaker. We also heard from our staff and volunteers, who shared reflections on the year’s work, achievements, and impact, complemented by special performances throughout the evening.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to this meaningful occasion. We extend our sincere appreciation to our staff, volunteers, speakers, community partners, and vendors whose dedication and contributions made our 2026 AGM a true success.
