This photo captures us perfectly. Four Deltans, brought together by our love for this community, a shared belief that Delta deserves a fresh start, and apparently, a lot of laughter.

One of the first photos we took as the Delta First team, captured by the talented Arshdeep Pannu. Before the debates, before the campaign signs and before we knew just how far this journey would take us, there was this. Four people who cared enough about their community to step forward and do something about it.

We've put our ideas out there, shown up for the conversations and stayed true to why we started.

To everyone who welcomed us, challenged us, encouraged us, opened your doors and believed in what we're building, thank you. You've made this journey something we'll never forget.

Today, Delta gets to choose its future. And whatever happens, we're proud of what we've built together.

We're bringing this moment back for a reason.

At the second mayoral debate, Melissa Granum looked the current mayor in the eye and asked him to pass the torch.

It's a moment that captures the choice facing Delta: continue with the leadership we've had, or open the door to a new chapter.

This campaign has been built on months of conversations, clear commitments and a belief that Delta deserves fresh, accountable leadership. Leadership experience is very different then political experience.

From the vault: This is who I’m not.

As we head into the final days of this campaign, we’re going back to the vault.

Why? Because I want you to see that while the campaign has grown, the team has grown, and more people have joined this journey, who we are and what we stand for hasn’t changed.

I’ve told you a lot about who I am. But who I’m not matters just as much.

I’m not interested in backroom politics, closed-door decisions or saying whatever it takes to win. I believe leadership means showing up, listening, being accountable and remembering who I work for: the people of Delta.

If you’re just getting to know me, I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch. And if you’ve been here since the beginning, this is a reminder that our commitment to a different kind of leadership has been there from day one.

We haven’t changed our message to win your vote. We’re asking for your vote because we’ve stayed true to who we are.

Delta deserves fresh, accountable leadership.

Some journeys deserve to come full circle.

When we first gathered at the Sundance Pub, we were a small team with a big idea, a lot of hope, and very few people who knew who we were.

Phyllis welcomed us in when we were just getting started. Before the campaign signs, the debates, the headlines and the countless conversations across Delta, there was a room full of people who believed that our community deserved something different. And there was a place where we could come together and begin.

Phyllis, thank you for giving us that place.

Look how far we've come.

We've knocked on doors, listened to residents, had conversations that challenged us, made friendships and experienced a kind of community support that has meant more to us than we can put into words.

And now, as this chapter comes to an end, it feels right to return to the place where it all began.

Join Melissa, Tammy, Jat, Alex and the Delta First team at the Sundance Pub on Saturday, October 17, after 6 p.m. as we watch the election results come in.

We don't know what the evening will bring. But we know we want to spend it together, with the people who helped make this journey what it has been.

Win or lose, we'll have so much to be grateful for.

Because long after the signs come down and the campaign is over, we'll remember the people who welcomed us, stood beside us and believed in what we were trying to do.
