Our current mayor and council are too busy bickering with each other, they have forgotten their job is to lead our city. The cancellation of the tunnel contract came as a surprise to them, which is an embarrassment for Delta and will negatively impact all of us for at least another decade.

When our elected officials cannot stand to be in the same room with each other, who is fighting for Delta? Right now it’s clear that the answer is no one. First the long term care facility, now the tunnel, what’s next?

October cannot come fast enough.

Door knocking is one of the best ways to hear directly from residents, learn what matters in each neighbourhood, and stay connected to the people we hope to serve.

Today we joined our running mate for Council, Tammy Hansen, at the Step Forward for Mental Health Walk in Southlands.

We are incredibly proud of Tammy for her leadership and commitment to this important cause. As an inaugural board member and treasurer, she has helped support an organization that is making a real difference in the lives of individuals and families facing mental health challenges.

It was inspiring to see so many people come together to raise awareness, show support, and help break the stigma around mental health. Thank you to everyone who participated (including cute dogs and our very own Libby 🐾) and to the organizers and volunteers who made this event possible.

Mental health matters, and strong communities are built when we support one another.

We love to hear from you and we love meeting this beautiful community. We hope you can come to Memorial Park in Ladner on July 4 from 1-3 p.m. And yes, we will be announcing a park meet and greet in Tsawwassen shortly, and plan on more between now and election day (which is October 17, btw. Mark your calendars).
