This summer, APSEA learner Diego attended Shad Canada at Mount Allison University, where he joined students from across Canada for a month of learning, teamwork and new experiences. He took part in workshops, community activities, volunteering and team challenges. He also gave a presentation called “Accessibility: Experiencing Deafness,” sharing his perspective and helping others think more deeply about accessibility and the experiences of people who are Deaf or hard of hearing.

Diego also worked with a team to develop an idea for a new product. His team received the Best Product Award for their project. His group also won Best Picture in a one-shot film challenge. Congratulations, Diego, on a rewarding experience at Shad Canada!
