Parents & caregivers: ACCA's Cultural Arts & Multi-Sport Summer Camp in partnership with St. Matt's starts July 6!

This Cultural Arts & Mult-Sport Camp is held at the ACCA Banquet Hall 754 Barton St E, Hamilton for 1-6 weeks. This summer camp is a recreational day camp for girls and boys age 7 to 13.

Our goal is to expose campers to a wide variety of cultural arts exposing youth to a wide variety of culutral activities (i.e. art, food, dance, music, language, and more). as for sports, this will be to develop fundamental movement and sport skills with an emphasis on fun, fair play and teamwork.

The camp runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (with some shortened weeks due to holidays) offering a variety of sports and different activities daily including: arts, cooking, dance, acting, and playing cooperative, territory and target games, Soccer, Baseball, Flag Football, Ball Hockey, Basketball, and more!

Join us for an active Summer where campers get to try out a variety of different sports and learn about different cultures and countries through themed cultural activities throughout the week.

Important Notice: We will be using commmunity parks such as Lucy Day Park, Gage Park) and outdoor sports/activities !

Participants are not required to sign up for all 8 weeks of programming. You are free to pick and choose which weeks appeal to your child and pay accordingly.

Location: ACCA Banquet Hall @ 754 Barton ST E. Hamilton
Cost: $125 +HST each week

"Closing a food bank might seem counterintuitive when dealing with hunger and poverty, but the Hamilton non-profit has shifted to an integrated system that supports dignity at every stage of life.

When Renée Wetselaar became executive director in 2018, she made a decision that raised eyebrows and ire, closing one of Hamilton’s first food banks.

At a time when demand for food security programs was increasing, the move seemed counterintuitive. When food banks sprang up in the 1980s after a recession that kickstarted the decade into despair, they were originally seen as an emergency response, never meant to be permanent.

Closing the food bank did not mean stepping away from food. It meant asking a harder question, what would it look like to address food insecurity differently?"

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈 We celebrate this month while acknowledging there is still much work to be done to ensure equality for all. We are inspired by our friends, the Rainbow Kings and Queens who fled to Canada from their home countries in Africa because of their sexual orientation. Despite everything they have been through, they have collectively brought their strength together to create a group to support each other and welcome newcomers. 🌈 The group is proudly supported by the Anglican Diocese of Niagara along with St. Matt’s.
