The Flagstaff Regional Emergency Services Society proudly presents the 3rd Annual Fire Ball!

Everyone is invited to join us Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Wildrose Co-op Recreation Centre in Sedgewick for an unforgettable evening in support of our local fire services.

🚒✨ Join Us for Two Festive Events in Killam! ✨🚒

Our firetrucks will be lit for the season! Come see them all decked out in lights during the Parade of Lights on Friday, December 5 along Main Street. We can’t wait to take part in this magical community tradition.

Then on Saturday, December 6, we’ll be on the north end of Main Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. helping with the annual Charity Checkstop. We’ll be collecting funds for Building Bridges in Flagstaff and gathering food and items for the Flagstaff Food Bank.

Your support makes a real difference. Hope to see you there! ❤️🎄

💧 A huge thank you to everyone at the Killam branch of Vision Credit Union Ltd. for their generous donation of eight 24-packs of water!

This water will be used by our firefighters while out on calls, helping them stay hydrated and prepared to serve our communities. 🚒💦

🔥🥞 Firefighters’ Breakfast is Back — on a Saturday! 🥞🔥

The Killam Volunteer Firefighters Society invites you to the annual breakfast at the FRESS Killam Station on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 8 to 11 a.m.

Enjoy pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and French toast — all while supporting your local firefighters. 🚒

All the best to Wyatt Pickles on his continued recovery!

On Saturday, November 2, FRESS welcomed Wyatt Pickles and his family to the Killam Station to meet the responders who were on scene May 14 when the cement truck he was driving rolled onto its side near Sedgewick.

Bryce Sparrow of Sedgewick was following the truck and was first on scene, able to suppress the fire that had started in the cab with a fire extinguisher.

Sedgewick and Killam Stations were dispatched to the scene and with the help of a crane from BeDevil Services in Killam, they were able to extricate Wyatt from the cab.

Wyatt is continuing his recovery from the event but is thankful for the opportunity to meet the responders who were instrumental in helping in his time of need.
