This week, the NPFD is hosting the Ontario Fire College’s new Incident Command course, which focuses on strengthening command presence, decision-making, and incident management skills. The course is being rolled out across the province, and incorporates Listowel's Dollar Store fire. Today, course participants visited the site and the North Perth Firefighters' Monument. The monument inscription “in honour of those who have fallen, dedicated to those who serve” felt especially appropriate on this rainy afternoon.

The proceeds of the Monkton Firefighters' Breakfast on Sunday, June 14 will be donated to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation in honour of Firefighter Donald Hymers, who selflessly served our community for 45 remarkable years. His name will be added to monuments in Ottawa and Toronto this fall. We are grateful for support in honouring our friend and fallen brother.
