Is your FYP controlling you, or are you actually the one in charge?🀨 Don’t just be a user, but be the creator behind the screen. Welcome to the Animation Lab, a space where we are swapping mindless scrolling for high level creating.
If you love scrolling, drawing, or making videos, this workshop is your chance to try digital animation and turn your screen time into something you actually make, rather than just consume. We are diving deep into the world of digital art to help you build a healthier, main character relationship with social media. You will learn animation basics, experiment with moving art, and create short animations inspired by your own unique ideas.
Your finished work will even be featured in a final exhibition, both in person and online!
What we will cover
β€’ Animation basics and moving art
β€’ Developing a positive digital mindset and staying safe online
β€’ A safe space for self expression
β€’ An exhibition celebration to wrap it all up
Location: Aaniin Community Centre Library
Cost: Totally free!!! We even provide iPads and Apple Pencils if you need them.
Who: Open to anyone from Grade 9 students up to early career professionals who want to get more out of their social media time.

What an unforgettable time of connection, healing, and inspiration! Thank you to every single person who brought their heart and energy to our recent Arts for Wellness Training in Markham. It was truly powerful to witness artists and community workers coming together in exchange, diving into creative expression with a drama workshop by Tin (.artmoves), exploring vital paths to healing with holistic mental-wellness sharing from (), and finding a grounding moment of peace during a forest bathing experience with Sheniz (, ). The vulnerability, passion, and dedication in the room reminded us exactly why art is such a vital force for wellness, and we left with full hearts, new perspectives, and a deeper commitment to our community’s collective well-being.

A massive thank you to our phenomenal facilitators and new friends for creating spaces where we can all learn, grow, and heal together, so please stay tuned for what we might build next!
