Trainees at our main centre have been hard at work too 💪

We’re slowly working on decorating Possible Cafe with the help of our trainees. They’ve been painting and making unique crafts to add to the cafe’s art wall. Each trainee had their own approach to their pieces. Some made patterns while others mixed colours together. Other trainees worked on paper crafts and carefully chose ribbons to create a one-of-a-kind art piece.

Anyone fancy a new bag charm or cute accessory? 😊✨

Trainees in our day program have been experimenting with clay to make keychain charms and accessories. They've been having a lot of fun getting creative and making everything from rainbows to planets to donuts. If you keep your eyes peeled, you might see some of our charms available for sale soon 🤫

Trainees are always crafting something new! You can purchase a variety of their artwork and crafts year-round at our centre. All proceeds go towards supporting our organization.

Our trainees’ newest project 😊🌸

Trainees in our Daily Living Enrichment (DLE) day program have been working hard to create pipe cleaner flowers for Mother’s Day. They are involved in every step of the crafting process including folding and twisting the pipe cleaners and putting together all the different pieces. After putting so much time and effort into this project, they’re excited to bring some flowers home to their loved ones.

Did you know it's National Caregiver Day today? ❤

The Ontario Caregiver Organization defines caregivers as "ordinary people who provide physical and emotional support to a family member, partner, friend, or neighbour". Caregivers play important roles in the lives of our trainees. As parents and guardians, they take care of them, aid in their development, and more.

However, as trainees grow older, so do their caregivers. Many families cannot afford to wait years for government housing due to health conditions or other pressing issues. That's why our newest project, Cherish Enriched Living, aims to provide a culturally-sensitive home to trainees.

Celebrating Easter with a cute craft 🐰💕

Yesterday, our trainees got creative to celebrate the Easter long weekend. This hands-on activity helped them improve fine motor skills like writing, colouring, cutting with scissors, and folding paper. Everyone had the opportunity to make their bunny unique!

What a week 🤩

Our March Break camps for kids and youth with developmental disabilities were so much fun! Everyone got involved in arts and crafts, baking, games, and more. The week ended with everyone going on fun outings like a trip to the library and golfing.

Happy St. Patrick's Day 🍀💚

Our trainees embraced the day by making paper plate leprechaun masks and marshmallow cupcakes. March Break is in full swing at our centre, and everyone is having a lot of fun getting involved in different activities. Thank you Isa LEE for dropping by on Friday 🤗

We had the opportunity to share what trainees were up to lately in our Vocational Training & Employment Services (VTES) and Daily Living Enrichment (DLE) programs. We even shared some of the tasty treats that VTES trainees had made fresh that morning!

Afterwards, we toured our new centre that’ll house the VTES program starting this spring. We are so pleased with the renovation progress and can’t wait for everyone to see the centre come together.

Registration for our Speech-Language Pathologist led play group closes soon!

Cherish Integrated Services’ Preschool Speech Group is for children 2.5 - 4 years old experiencing language and/or communication delays. Our communication and speech group aims to improve parent and child’s:
⭐ Play skills
⭐ Turn taking skills
⭐ Social communication skills
⭐ Understanding and use of language skills

8 sessions ($200 total) run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 24 to April 16 from 1 - 2 pm at our centre. Fees are eligible for reimbursement through private insurance, OAP, or SSAH.

Individualized speech language therapy sessions are also available.
