Mission Search & Rescue (MSAR) is a registered non-profit organization in the province of British Columbia. Its primary function is that of a community resource to assist the RCMP, the BC Ambulance Service and the BC Coroners Service in a variety of search and rescue functions. We currently have over 20 members, and growing larger in numbers every year. We are a strong team of volunteer profession

Thursday evening, MSAR was tasked for a rescue of a male who had fell a considerable distance in the East Stave backcountry. The subject was stable but had sustained injuries which made travel difficult.
Mission SAR members were able to locate the subject, provide first aid, and stretcher him to a helicopter for a medical transport.

MSAR had three members attend the Southern Interior Rope Exercise (SIRE), a rope rescue training event hosted by Wells Gray Search and Rescue. SIRE gave our members a chance to practice and enhance technical rope skills Also SIRE gives members a great opportunity to network with other SAR team members.

Last night, Mission Search and Rescue responded to a call for two young individuals at Cascade Falls. The subjects were stuck on a rocky ledge without a safe path to exit and made the correct decision to call 911.

Mission SAR was quickly deployed to make use of the remaining daylight and decide which point of access would be both safe and effective. A member was able to access the subjects to treat for hypothermia while the team set up and deployed a high-angle rope rescue. The subjects were secured and hauled to a safe location before being escorted back to their family.
