Inuit Women’s Voices. Inuit-Led Solutions. Safe housing is essential to the health, safety, and well-being of Inuit women, girls, gender-diverse Inuit, and their families. Inuit-led research and community knowledge are guiding solutions that can make a meaningful difference in their everyday lives.

Our recommendations call for long-term investment in Inuit-led housing solutions, including dedicated funding, expanded emergency and transitional housing, culturally appropriate services, Inuit-led research and data sovereignty, and clear accountability for federal housing commitments.

A key outcome of the Forum’s inaugural session 25 years ago was the bold call to States to adopt the draft United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples before the end of the decade.

I call on Member States to honour their commitments under the Declaration and to actively implement its articles, into domestic law and policy.

The Board of Directors is responsible for Pauktuutit’s strategic direction. The board meets at least three times a year virtually, and once in-person, expenses covered.

Directors will be elected at our Annual General Meeting, November 17-18, 2026, for the following regions:

📣 Pauktuutit will host its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 17-18, 2026.

The in‐person meeting will be at the Delta Hotels Ottawa City Centre. The Board of Directors will report on activities conducted during the 2025‐2026 fiscal year.
