Golden Leaf Agrivoltaics Project
Project Introduction – Golden Leaf Agrivoltaics Project
About the Project
Golden Leaf Agrivoltaics Inc., a 50/50 partnership between the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation and Compass Greenfield Development Inc., is proposing the development of the Golden Leaf Agrivoltaics Project. The proposed site is located on private land in the Township of Drummond/North Elmsley, Lanark County. The site spans two privately owned parcels generally bounded by Drummond Concession 1 and Churchill Road. Please see the attached Figure 1 for the project map.
If approved, the facility would be a Class 3 ground-mounted solar facility with a capacity of up to 9.0 megawatts alternating current (MW AC). The project is being designed using an agrivoltaics approach, which would incorporate sheep grazing as a natural vegetation management strategy. This approach would allow the land to continue supporting agricultural use while also generating clean electricity.
Upcoming Open House
Golden Leaf Agrivoltaics Inc. will be hosting an Open House in the area to share information about the project, display site maps, and answer questions in person.
