At approximately 0713 hrs, Buckland Fire/Rescue was toned out for a Brush Fire on Walker Road. Command 51S and Wildland 51S responded with three Firefighters. Two other Firefighters remained on standby at the Fire Station. Shellbrook Fire was also dispatched and responded with a Wildland unit. On arrival, a small fire was located that was extinguished by members of the public. The scene was turned over to the RCMP. Crews cleared the scene and returned to the Station. Thank you to our members and Shellbrook Fire for responding. Incident #81 year to date.

On 2026-08-24 at approximately 2350 hrs, Buckland Fire/Rescue was toned out for a Residential Fire Alarm in Red Wing. Command 51S and Engine 51S responded with 6 Firefighters. On arrival, Command staff spoke with the residents and determined that no emergency existed-confirmed false alarm. Engine 51 was stood down and incident terminated. All units then cleared and returned to the Fire Station. As always thank you to our members for responding. Incident # 80 year to date.

In order for a Fire Department to be response ready, it requires hundreds of hours of behind the scenes work. Crews spent last evening pressure testing our fire hose in order to meet SPSA requirements set out in the Saskatchewan Fire Services Minimum Standards. Members also preformed maintenance on our high-volume portable pumps and back flushed our dry hydrant in Park Meadows. Thank you to our Firefighters for ensuring our equipment is in top notch working order.

At approximately 1432 hrs, Buckland Fire/Rescue was toned out for a Motor Vehicle Collision on Hwy #2 North. Command 51S, Rescue 51S and Engine 51S responded with 8 Firefighters. On arrival, a single vehicle rollover had occurred on the service road north of White Star Road. Parkland Ambulance and RCMP members were on scene. All patients were out of the vehicle and being treated by Paramedics. Buckland crews assisted Paramedics with patient care and established traffic control. A second Ambulance unit was requested to respond to the scene to assist. Three patients were transported to hospital with unknown injuries. Once the tow company arrived, crews were released by the RCMP. Thank you to our emergency services partners for your teamwork today. And as always thank you to our members for responding. On 2026-07-30 at approximately 1112 hrs, Buckland Fire/Rescue was toned out for a vehicle fire in an attached garage on Pine Street in Red Wing. Prince Albert Fire Department was immediately requested for mutual aid with a tanker. Command 51S, Engine 51S, Tanker 51S, Tanker 52S and Tanker 53S responded with 7 Firefighters. While responding, Command observed a large column of black smoke, incident was upgraded to a structure fire response and more mutual aid was requested from Lakeland Fire for a tanker and the SPSA ERT for personnel and the air supply trailer. On arrival, RCMP members were assisting the home owner to a police unit. Parkland Ambulance was requested to respond to the scene. All occupants were out of the home. Command conducted a 360 survey of the home and fire had extended from the fully involved garage into the home. PAFD tanker arrived and attacked the fire using its bumper turret which helped to slow the fire and reduce the extreme radiant heat that was threatening other vehicles, a shed and a detached garage. Buckland E51 arrived on scene and Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus attacked the fire in a defensive mode using a 2.5 inch blitz fire attack and a 1.75 inch hand line. SaskPower and SaskEnergy disconnected the utilities. A water supply was secured at the nearby dugout at Park Meadows using our high volume portable pump. Tanker trucks filled at this location and shuttled water to our 3500 gallon port-a-tank to supply E51. At this time, with mutual aid assistance, a total of 18 Firefighters were on scene. At 1253 hrs, the fire was under control. Crews worked tirelessly on a very hot day attempting to save this home. Buckland Rescue 51S and Wildland 51S responded with another 5 firefighters in order to start giving Firefighters some rehabilitation as they were starting to feel the effects of the hot day and extreme work conditions. Crews worked on hot spots and extinguishing hidden fire. The fire was investigated and the home was boarded up by First General Services. Prince Albert Security Services was hired for the night for fire watch on the property incase of a rekindle. Buckland crews cleared the scene at 2000 hrs and returned to the Fire Station and spent the next two hours getting equipment back in-service and response ready. Huge thanks to all our partners for your assistance. We are stronger when we work together! And as always thank you to our members for responding and being there for the community when they need us. Incident #76 year to date.

Crews are on scene at a structure fire in Red Wing. Be advised several Fire tankers are shuttling water to the scene. Stay clear of the area and watch out for emergency vehicles.

Today, members of Buckland Fire & Rescue were proud to support the Canadian Metal Health Association- Prince Albert Branch as they celebrated their 30th Anniversary Community Event.

We valve the opportunity to partner with organizations that make a positive impact in our community. Events like these remind us that community safety goes beyond emergency response; it’s also about supporting mental health, building connections and being there for one another.
