Good afternoon everyone,

We have been advised from Can-Ops that due to the Sasktel outages not all calls are going through. If you have an emergency and call 911 in the RM of Buckland and it isn’t going through please call 1-306-960-1025 and we will work with Sask 911 to dispatch emergency crews.

Hopefully this outage is resolved soon!

Volunteer and Paid-On-Call Firefighters all over this great province drop whatever they are doing to respond and help someone in need, which often sacrifices family time and events. Thank you Premier Moe for the recognition. It is greatly appreciated.

Last week for training, crews conducted a timed hose deployment drill. Firefighters had two minutes to stretch an attack line and get water flowing while breathing air from a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). This is an excellent drill to help keep our Firefighters skills sharp.

Thank you to D Platoon from the Prince Albert Fire Department for the great opportunity to train together tonight. Training makes our Departments stronger, which results in a more professional emergency response for the community.

On 2026-04-10 (second emergency call-out of the evening) at approximately 2144 hrs, Buckland Fire/Rescue was toned out for a Motor Vehicle Collision (vehicle in a slough) on Highway # 2 North. All occupants were reported out of the vehicle with possible injuries. Rescue 51S and Engine 51S responded with 8 Firefighters. On arrival, RCMP and Parkland Ambulance were on scene. Only the roof of an suv was visible in the slough. The occupants were giving mixed messages about potentially more people inside the vehicle. The Prince Albert Fire Department was requested for mutual aid to respond with a water rescue team to search the vehicle. PAFD arrived and entered the water and confirmed the vehicle was clear. PAFD also hooked up the vehicle so the towing company could pull the vehicle out of the water and up to the road. Crews waited for a cab to arrive to drive some of the occupants home. Once the scene was clear, the incident was terminated and crews returned to the Fire Station. Thank you to our emergency services partners, Lakeland Towing and as always our members for responding. Incident # 94 year to date.

On 2026-10-04 at approximately 1848 hrs, Buckland Fire/Rescue was toned out for a Strange Odor smell inside a home on Riverside Drive (C.L. Marshall Road) with one person feeling sick. Parkland Ambulance was requested to attend the scene. Engine 51S and a crew of Firefighters responded while other members remained on standby at the Fire Station. Command had the occupants exit the home for safety. Firefighters located and removed a bucket of chemicals from the basement. The crew then ventilated the structure to allow fresh air inside. Once ventilation was completed, the property was turned back over to the home owners. Firefighters then cleared the scene and returned to the Fire Station. Thank you to our members for responding. Incident # 93 year to date.

Fire Prevention Week starts tomorrow. Check out this great event hosted by Prince Albert Fire tomorrow!

To kick off Fire Prevention Week, we are inviting you to stop by the Lake Country Leisure Centre on Sunday October 4, 2026 between 11:00am and 4:00pm to meet your local fire fighters! Ask questions about this year's theme "Charge into Fire Safety" or any other fire safety question you may have. Get a tour of some of the trucks and equipment that will be on site.

On 2026-09-30 at approximately 2247 hrs, Buckland Fire/Rescue was toned out for a residential fire alarm sounding in Henribourg. The alarm company contacted the homeowner and it was a confirmed false alarm-steam from the shower set the alarm off. Buckland crews were stood down and the call was terminated. As always, thank you to our members for responding to the fire station. Incident #92 year to date.
